ICT - ROUND SHAPE TOWERS

ICT- Round shape towers are used in all type of industries to cool the recycle water flow

from 5M³/Hr to 1000 M³/Hr. Round Shape will give very good appearance and 100%

Evaporative Cooling Towers

Advantages

Evaporative cooling towers reject heat from Industrial processsystems while using minimum quantities of energy and water.As shown in Figure, water is pumped from the basin section anddistributed over the exterior of the condensing coil by a seriesof distribution spray nozzles. The flow rate of water need onlybe enough to thoroughly wet the condensing coil to provideuniform water distribution and prevent accumulation of scale.Therefore, minimum pumping horsepower is required.

A fan system sucks air through the falling water and over thecoil sufrace. A small quantity of the water is evaporated, removing heat from the primary circuit and cooling it inside thecoil. Therefore, like the cooling tower all of the heat rejection isby evaporation, thus saving about 95% of the water normallyrequired by a once-through system.

The evaporate cooling towers essentially combines a coolingtower and a condenser coil in single equipment. It eliminatesthe sensible heat transfer step of the condenser coil waterwhich is required in the cooling tower / condenser system. Thispermits a condensing temperature substantially closer todesign wet-bulb temperature, and consequently, minimumheat process energy input.

Evaporative Cooling Towers

Advantages

1. Low system operating costs : Condensing temperatures within 8 to 10°C of design wet-bulb are practical and economical, resulting in horsepower saving of 10% or more over cooling tower and more than 30% over air-cooled systems. Fan, horsepower is comparable to cooling tower and is about one-third that of an equivalent air-cooled unit. Because of the low pumping head and reduced water flow, water pumping horsepower is approximately 25% water flow, water pumping horsepower is installation.

2. Initial cost savings : The evaporative tower combines the cooling tower, condenser coil surface, water circulating pump, and water piping in one assembled equipment. This reduces the cost of handling and installing separate components of the cooling tower. Since the evaporative tower utilizes the efficiency of evaporative cooling, less heat transfer surface, fewer fans, and fewer fan motors are required resulting in an initial material cost saving of 30 to 50% over a comparable.

3. Space Saving : The evaporative tower saves valuable space by combining the condensing coil and cooling tower into one equipment, and eliminating the need for large water pumps and piping associated with the cooling tower system. Evaporative tower require only about 50% of the plan area of a comparable sized air-cooled installation.

Water Chillers

A water chiller is an industrial water refrigeration system that is used for industrial process cooling requirements. A water chiller is a complete system comprising of refrigeration components like refrigerant compressor, condenser, evaporator, refrigerant pipes, coolant expansion reservoir & circulation pumps. Water is cooled to temperatures ranging anywhere between 6°C to 25°C in these chillers depending upon the requirement of process.

Oil Coolers

Spindle oil coolers are used to reject the heat generated by the

spindle bearings during high rpm operations there by increasing

the life of the bearing and assisting in attaining accuracy. The

Spindle oil / Coolant is drawn from the SS sump available in the

cooler and circulated through the cooling circuits of the spindle.

The unit utilizes a Brazed Plate heat exchanger to transfer heat at

a constant level and maintains the sump temperature uniformly.

The differential temperature controller maintains the oil / coolant

at a constant temperature with respect to the ambient

temperature thus avoiding vast difference in temperature of the

spindle and ambient to avoid water condensing on the spindle

head during operations.

Immersion type Coolers

These units are generally used to cool the coolant of

machining centre / grinding oil of honing machines. The

unit is mounted directly on top of the tank and evaporator

section is immersed in the coolant / oil. These units are

Fin & tube heat exchanger & Axial Fan. The air is passed over the heat exchanger external surface area and oil flows

inside the tube from the bleed line of the power pack. Here the temperature of the oil depends upon the ambient

temperature. These units are equipped with a digital temperature indicator cum controller to cut off the fan when the

set temperature is attained.

Working Principles of Plate Type Heat Exchangers

The plate heat exchanger is made of 2 frames and a number of plates, that depend on the volume to be exchanged.

The plates have characteristic ridges that are necessary to create flow channels through which the fluid moves in perfectly opposing currents, minimizing the required surface area for an optimal heat exchange.

The frames are made of two painted carbon steel slabs. The internal plates have gaskets on the outer edge separating the plates from one another and are fixed tightly together by stay bolts, obtaining a perfect hold.

This type of assembly permits having the fluid input and output on the same side of only one slab. This method allows the disassembly of the PHE for cleaning; taking down the plates from the free side without the need to disconnect any pipes.

Industrial Softener

The water softener consists of high exchange capacity

strongly acidic cation - sodium from resin. The cation

resin is used to exchange sodium ions for the scale

forming calcium and magnesium, and thus produce

soft water. the ion exchanger is regenerated with a

sodium chloride solution when the bed is exhausted.

The standard models are available from 1000 to

10,000 lits/hr. The higher capacity plants can also be

designed and supplied as per specific requirements.
