Editorial

Welcome to the debut issue of RMCET’s News

Letter “Ensemble” which is launched for the

companions of Rajendra Mane College of

Engineering and Technology, Ambav. It holds

together the memories of past yet gives glimpses of

reality. We express our debt of gratitude towards

the support of Hon. Ravindraji M. Mane (Chairman

of PSPS). We also acknowledge our sincere thanks

to Principal Dr. G. V. Mulgund who has been a

constant source of motivation. We thank all the

HODs, our colleagues and students especially

Sanket, Aqib and Tambe for their cooperation. The

first issue reflects the activities organized during

academic year 2011-2012. We would welcome the

feedback of all our dear readers which will help us

to improve the forthcoming issues.

Ensemble has been conceived as official Newsletter

of RMCET, Ambav. This endeavor has been the long

felt need of the faculty and the students. The News

letter is a brief but yet a strong linkage between various

stake holders of the Institution. It is with great pleasure

that we are bringing out this inaugural issue with tidbits

of events and achievements that happened during last

academic year. The Newsletter is aptly titled as

Ensemble to indicate the emotional moments conducted

during the last academic year.

I appeal our alumni to support and contribute to

Ensemble to make this Newsletter a continuing venture.

My wish is that let us have a vibrant Alumni

Association resplendent with activities and the

institution looks up to the alumni as being the

ambassadors of the institution.

I place on record the support and guidance given by

our revered Chairman Hon. Ravindraji M. Mane and all

Ensemble is the annual newsletter for companions of RMCET, Ambav

Temple of Education: “Shree Vidya Ganapati Mandir” is a newly

built temple with the aspiration of Hon. Ravindra M.

Mane, Chairman of PSPS. Shri. Swami Narendracharya

Maharaj, Nanij graced the holy ceremony of Ganapati

Murti Pratishthapana and Kalasharohan on 02 February

2012. The ceremony initiated on 30 January 2012 with

ShobhaYatra of Shree Ganapati from Devrukh to

Ambav wherein all the students and staff members of

PSPS participated in the rally which reflected the

enthusiasm and dignity of the institute. The holy

ceremony continued for 4 days including all the rituals

and concluded with Mahaprasad.

Inauguration: AAROHAN is the annual function of RMCET,

Ambav which is usually organized in the month of

February. It includes Sports, Cultural as well as various

Academic activities. The function inaugurated with the

address of Hon. Ravindraji M. Mane, Chairman of

PSPS. Shri. Rajiv Jadhav, District Magistrate, Ratnagiri

was Chief Guest for the function. The inaugural

function was marked by parade and war cry by the

representatives of respective departments. The function

started with inaugural football match. The AAROHAN

was held during the period from 17th Feb to 4

th March.

The department of Automobile Engineering organized a

STTP on “RECENT TRENDS IN AUTOMOTIVE

ENGINEERING” during 27 - 31 December 2011. Shri.

Dilip Jadhav, Joint Secretary of PSPS chaired the

workshop with his thought provoking speech. Dr. G. V.

Mulgund, Principal of RMCET also shared his views on

necessity of up-gradation in Automobile sector. Prof. S. R.

Mahajan, Principal of RMP expressed his opinions and

appreciated for organizing the workshop.

Two Days Workshop on “Advanced Technologies in

Mechanical Engineering Laboratories” was organized by

the department of Mechanical Engineering on 26 and 27

December, 2011. Principal Dr. G. V. Mulgund was the

honor of chair for the workshop. Prof. M. M. Bhagwat,

Dean Academic and HOD Mechanical and Prof. R. V.

Dandage were also present for the workshop. All the non

teaching staff members participated in the workshop with

enthusiasm.

A One Day Workshop on “Effective Communication

and Technical Paper Writing” was jointly organized by

the departments of Applied Science and Humanities

and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

on 10 January 2012. Hon. Ravindraji M. Mane,

Chairman of PSPS expressed his views on the

workshop. Principal Dr. G. V. Mulgund shared his

thoughts on the need of research attitude. Dr. Y. S. Rao

and Dr. S. S. Rathod were the resource persons from

Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Mumbai.

A Workshop on “Ethical Hacking” for (CE/IT/EXTC

students) was conducted by Mr. Sulabh Jain, Kyrion

Digital Security Pvt. Ltd, Delhi, dated – 27 to 29 Sept.

2011 organized by Department of Information

Technology.

Auto Day Celebration:

Department of Automobile Engineering organized various

technical events on the occasion of worldwide

“Automobile Day” from 28 to 30 Jan. 2012. The various

events included inauguration of “Autotrendz” wallpaper,

Auto System Demonstration Stalls, Logo Safari, Prize

Distribution, Slow Biking Competition, Jercy Design

Competition, Department Logo Competition, Technical

Written Test on Auto. Engg., Poster Presentation and Auto

Quiz.

MESA organized a Seminar on “Konkan Railway Project”

conducted by Mr. Ravindra Kamble, Regional Mechanical

Engineer, Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. on

15/09/2011 to celebrate the ENGINEERS Day for the final

year students of Mechanical & Automobile Engineering.

An Aptitude Test was conducted by MESA on the

occasion of Engineers Day. 200 Students from all

branches appeared for the test with enthusiasm.

Workshop on “Web Design with Open Source

Technologies (PHP, Python, MySQL)” was conducted by

Mr. Krishnakant Mane from I.I.T. Pawai organized by

department of MESA organized a Seminar on

CAD/CAM/CAE conducted by Mr. Prasanna Joshi, MD,

CADCAM GURU, Pune on 14/10/2011 for the final year

students of Mechanical & Automobile Engineering.

MESA organized a four day workshop on “Computational

Fluid Dynamics” in association with Seed Infotech, Pune

during 25 to 29 September, 2011 for the third year & final

year students of Mechanical Engineering.

For the students of BE Mechanical, a 3-Day workshop on

“PLC Automation”wasorganized by MESA during 31

March to 02 April 2012.

One week STTP was organized by department of

Mechanical Engg. on ANSYS software conducted by

Mr. Sachin Matade, Sr. FEA analyst, KSB pumps Ltd.

Pune during 25 to 30 December, 2011.

A seminar on “Road Safety” was organized by

Department of Automobile Engg., conducted by Mr.

Rajendra Kadam on 25/01/2012.

Department of Automobile Engg. organized “Five Days

Training Programme on ANSYS” for the students of TE

and BE; conducted by Mr. Anirudha Kulkarni during

26/02/2012 to 01/03/2012.

Urjitam:

“Urjitam” is the National level technical-festival

organized by Department of Electronics and

Telecommunication Engineering which includes various

events such as Robot war, Junk yard war, Project

exhibition, Gaming, Expando, Snake and Ladder. This

event was held in association with the NPCIL(Nuclear

Plant Corp. of India Ltd.) wherein Mr. S. G. Galgali

(Additional Chief Engg., NPCIL) and Mr. A. D. Kawale

(Sr. HR Manager, NPCIL) were present for the inaugural

function. Students from various universities like Mumbai

University, Shivaji University and Pune University

participated in various events.

A Regional Level Tech Fest “i-Spark 2012" was

MESA organized a Seminar on “Solar Energy”

SSPMCOE, Kankavli on 03/10/2011 for the final

An Industrial visit was arranged for T.E.

students at ‘EasyLib’, Bangalore according to

students at ‘ISRO’, Bangalore during 8 Sep
