March 2016
Richer Fireside Youth The Richer Fireside Youth enjoyed their Valentine Pizza party. Thanks to Kim from the Richer Inn for her delicious “disappearing” pizzas! Next youth meeting will be on Fri. March 4 at the Richer School gym from 7-9pm. All Youth are welcome.
Upcoming Events Fri. March 11: Richer Fireside Youth along with the Youth from the Tues Night Sports Drop In (ages 11 and up) will be bowling against their parents and leaders for a fun family evening. Fri. April 22 at 7pm Richer School: Teen Challenge: As part of each Youth lesson we learn how to respect parents by telling the truth, the consequences of unhealthy friendships, and the harmful effects of drug, alcohol and internet addictions-teenagers are spending on average 27 unsupervised hours a week on the internet and media. I have invited Pastor Terry Thiessen from Teen Challenge to come and share about the self-destructive lifestyles of an addict. Some graduates from the program have experimented with drugs and alcohol at 10 yrs. old. We encourage parents from Richer and surrounding communities to attend this event with their Youth. It is our responsibility as parents to be “aware of the snares” and be vigilant to keep our children safe. -Michelle Driedger Youth Leader Ph 204 424-5216 or email [email protected]
