The Physical Therapist Assistant associate degree program
establishes a foundation in theory, assessment of skills, and
client/patient-centered and evidence-based interventions across
the life span, as well as in documentation and intervention planning.
Thanks to a combination of classroom and hands-on laboratory
coursework, graduates are prepared to pursue career opportunities
in a number of professional areas. Classroom and lab experiences
are enhanced and reinforced through two integrated clinical
education experiences as well as two full-time, terminal clinical
education experiences in a variety of settings.
The final semester of the Physical Therapist Assistant program mandates that students fulfill full-time day internship participation.
Graduates are eligible to sit for the NPTE (National Physical Therapy Exam) for PTAs.

A NURTURING & REWARDING FUTURE.As a graduate, you will be capable of providing physical therapy
services under the direction and supervision of a licensed
physical therapist to individuals of all ages, from newborns
to the elderly. The program prepares you to work in a variety
of settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals and skilled
nursing facilities, private practices, home health agencies,
schools, sports facilities, and work settings.
You may also be involved in teaching patients or clients
exercises for mobility, strength and coordination, and crutch/
cane/walker mobility; providing therapeutic massage; and using
physical agents such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation.
