We had two of our members share their experience as Veter- ans and participants of Collier County Honor Flight for our 4th of July Lunch and More celebration. Great presentation from Mark Tesoro, MA at Lee Memorial Health System on “Step Smart Naples”-Fall Prevention, and entertainment by Maurizio Nisita & Clare Burden with Naples Music Band, and singing performance on piano Ms. Dottie Jackson! Thank you for making Naples Senior Center the best destination in Naples! Aging involves a lot of unknowns about how the future will play out. JFCS is starting a brand new support group designed specifically for senior women. This group will offer a safe environment to explore and discuss feelings concerning socialization and how to have a fulfilling and meaningful life after 60. Facilitated by Jill Brewer, LCSW, Clinical Supervisor at JFCS, the group will talk about a wide range of topics such as coping with physical changes and challenges that accompany aging, dealing with losses, loneliness and isolation, financial worries, when to be concerned with changes and changing roles and relation- ships with family members. Depending upon the interests of the group outside experts may be invited to speak on topics such as financial planning and how to safely pay bills on line. In addition, participants may go on a local field trip. This group will be limited to 20 participants and will have 12 sessions. Participants will be asked to keep confidential what is shared. An informational meeting will be held on Monday, August 10 at 1pm in the Naples Senior Center. As you know the Naples Senior Center is expanding to meet increasing demand. JFCS is embarking upon an “EXPANSION BRICK CAMPAIGN “, a one-time opportunity to purchase a special “brick” to support the newly expanded Naples Senior Center. Bricks can be purchased for $500, $1000 and $2500. The bricks will be perma- nently displayed on the wall in the entrance to the center. For more information about the campaign please contact Dr. Jaclynn Faffer at 325-4444 or [email protected], or go to the JFCS website at www.jfcsswfl.org. Parkinson Association of Southwest FL, Inc. NAPLESSENIORCENTERA PROGRAM OF JFCS

July was an incredible and memorable month for us at the Senior Center. We had two of our members share their experience as Veter-ans and participants of Collier County Honor Flight for our 4th of July Lunch and More celebration. Aging involves a lot of unknowns about how the future will play out. JFCS is starting a brand new support group designed specifically for senior women.
