THE APPLICATION THE CHALLENGEPharmaceutical manufacturing environments demand reliable equipment that can cater to the sensitive nature of the powders, liquids and pills they produce. When a major mixer manufacturer expressed the need for mechanical bearings that could stand up to periodic dry run conditions, the unique properties of ADT’s UNCD represented a novel solution to a critical challenge that also met strict USP Class VI Standards.

Traditional Silicon Carbide (SiC) Bearings were unable to withstand dry run conditions brought upon by regular cleaning processes for more than a few seconds, causing unplanned work stoppages.
