Prompts for teaching ideas – worthwhile connections

The Premier's Reading Challenge is a NSW Government initiative with sponsorship from leading businesses including the Sydney Morning Herald. The texts on the list are endorsed by the Dept of Education and Training. This is a great way to find a list of books which have been approved and may be used in schools.

A rap or book rap is an exciting teaching and learning adventure. A blog is used to host weekly discussion points in response to a text (books, films, websites), topic or event, stimulate classroom activities, and provide opportunities for teachers and students to share responses and ideas with other schools. As students, you cannot join a rap session, but you can access the archives to get great teaching ideas. This is a Dept of Education and Training initiative and well worth exploring
