He was witty and full of hilarity. Verbal acuity was too smart. He belonged togroup with academic stalwarts. While on the first day of new posting a worthyprofessor asked this familiar question. “Where are the girls of your group?” Thischap replied with spontaneity. “Sir, there are no girls in this group but we havetwo women” This made the professor incommunicado. The girls were alsospeechless… on hearing such a crisp and close-to-reality description. Manywounded with just one arrow!

Sohail was pained by two factors while leaving Dow. Fear of graduation… What Iam going to do in these days of recession in medical profession? The other wasfear of growing hairlessness for it was increasing the surface area of face.

Sohail Shariq was an extremely painstaking and a gifted doctor. He did his MRCP injust two year’s time…. and never looked back thereafter. His prolonged stay inSaudi Arabia as gastro-enterologist was followed by an ultimate migration toEngland where he now lives. Technology and inspiration from Nawaz Sharifprompted him to get rid of the other thorn. He is back to the ageless era akin tothe young Aatish.

PERSONALITY UPLOADED ON 06TH FEBRUARY 2010

Wonderful to read about our very dear friend Sohail Shariq. I knew him as a soft spoken, intelligent, forthright and very sincere individual. He would always stand up to be counted when it mattered. He was like everyone knows, the wittiest person of the class with an excellent sense of humor. To this day I am not sure if he was actually in YMO or not...! For if he was in YMO than you can understand why it suffered such a premature demise. As his jokes were mostly aimed at YMO........sorry HaifzSahib if you did not know the enemy within.I am sure being a very bright, hardworking and deicated individual he must be enjoying an excellentand sucessful carear. Would really like to know more about his family and his journey since 1979.Sohail you are surely a bright spark of the class and with your new hair do..........you really look like a spring chicken...!!Best wishes and take care man.Asad

Dear ShoaibThe write up re Sohail was delightful, however I would not let a blatant lie regarding his mane go unchallenged. I can vouch for the fact that the hair on his head is genuinely his. Last time I met him I tested this by giving a quick tug to his scalp while he was distracted by Muneer and the the yelp he let out was of genuine agony!Asif

Dear Shoaib,You made my day. I have known Sohail since Elementary school days in Islamabad. His father and mine were colleagues in Pakistan Foreign Service. His short and witty quips could rightly earn him the title of Anwar Maqsood (PTV fame) of the class. Sohail: I need the contact info of your transplant doctor.Pls continue the series. Thanks.Arshad
