This project was based on the subject of breast cancer, in hope of motivating different women suffering from this disease or have family that are being tested each and every day by breast cancer.
The exhibition “Oncology On Canvas” presents work, which is inspired by all those women, each from different ethnic and social groups, who look for motivation and a ray of light to overcome this debilitation. The project represents six hands, six words, six ways to find hope through the terrible darkness of cancer.

This project was one of my first experiences in the realm of sculpture. After taking note of Gustave Courbet’s vandalism of the Vendôme Column, a symbol of authoritarian power, Harry was subsequently given a new identity through its own defacement. In support of this movement, Philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche states that “the criminal fight against culture is only the reverse side of a criminal culture”.
Harry represents that response as a synthesis between my love for animals and their place in society, and the graffiti style of art, which can communicate underlying messages and themes.
The horse was chosen because of its elegance and majestic presence in culture. Its image was replicated by the great civilizations of humanity to represent power and leadership.
In the dime stores and bus stations, people talk of situations, read books, repeat quotations, draw conclusions on the wall.- Bob Dylan

This project was completed in collaboration with Muralist Holly Alderman in the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts. The mural celebrates the significance and history of the River Charles to the city of Boston. Inspiration was derived from the poem “The River Charles” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, while the composition specifically focused on the line “my spirit leans on thee”.
Of my contributions to the project, Alderman said:
“Ms. Delgado is creative and original in her painting approach. It began with large painting sketches of water and hers was outstanding and unique. She was then responsibile for a third of the total painting composition, and made a very strong design as a member of team of 3 painters.
Her painting technique for the river was excellent and her layout design of spaces for river, sky, clouds and tree was dynamic and ideal balance in relation to the other areas of the painting by the two other students. The way her forms balanced the other area of the painting made the entire mural work. She has a gift for composition and tone. She also worked many extra hours to achieve the results.”
