On the behalf Taekwondo England it brings me great pleasure to invite you and your team to the Taekwondo England Open Championships.

Last year was a great success and we hope to make this event even bigger with your amazing support. As last year, the event will set a president for our future events assuring true openness, fair play and great Taekwondo.

The event will take place in London and will be a one-day event.

Eligibility of Applicants

The competition is open to students from all Taekwondo associations who hold the minimum rank of 10th Kup (white belt).All competitors MUST bring the required documentation to the competition for inspection.

ResultsThe contestants agree that the announcement of the results (with the names of the athletes) may be reported on the internet as well as in printed media.

Competitors must enter under their club. Clubs cannot combine or compete as an association or squad. Applications received after the closing date will not be accepted.

All applicants must be either a current member of Taekwondo England OR inpossession of a valid Taekwondo licence to be eligible to compete.

All competitors must bring their licence with them on the day as this will need to be presented at registration.

They must also submit their licence information / number with their application.

ImportantWe will not be accepting applications or payments for players or teams on the day of the competition.

All application and fees should be with us by 22nd May 2015

All players must show a valid Taekwondo licence at registration.

Any changes to entries on the day of the competition will incur an admin fee of £20 per change.

Compulsory PoomsaeAll competitiors must preform the set poomsae, if they cannot they will be disqualified.

All compulsory Poomsae shall be drawn, set and announced by the organising committee 3 days before the competition.

Cut-Off System will be used

1st Round: If there are 20 or more competitors in a division then the competition will start in this round. Two assigned compulsory poomsae will be required to be performed with a one minute rest period in between.

2nd Round: The top 50% of the competitors with the highest scores from the 1st round will qualify for this 2nd round (including competitors with equal scores). Two assigned compulsory poomsae will be required to be performed with a one minute rest period in between.

Final Round: The top 8 competitors (with the highest scores) from the 2nd round will qualify for this round. Two assigned compulsory Poomsae will be required to be per-formed with a one minute rest period in between

Divisions may start in the final if there are 8 entrants or less. 9 entrants or more will start in the 2nd round round.

Freestyle Poomsae is the performance based on Taekwondo techniques with composition of music and choreography.

Composition of Poomsae 1. Yeon-mu line shall be the choice of the competitor

2. Number of Poom: each performance shall be composite of 20 - 24 poom (composition shall be no more than 5 motions) 3. Music and choreography shall be the competitors choice.

4. Performance shall be within the boundary line.

5. Performance shall be within 60 - 70 seconds.

Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place for both divisions.As the categories are Open Age & Open Belt, the judges will use their discretion and take into consideration age, disability and belt of the competitor.

FURTHER INFORMATION

Dress:

All taekwondo groups and styles are eligible to attend, however competitors must wear a WTF style dobok (white with a black v neck) or one of the new WTF Poomsae doboks as described and available from retailers such as Kicksport.

Optionally Female competitors may wear a white T-shirt under their dobok. Jewellery is strictly not permitted

Spectators: Family: £15 (2 x adults + 2 x childrens)Childrens: £3.00Adults: £6.00

Judges/ Referees/ Officials:Invitations shall be made by the TKD England Poomsae committee to selected judges who have passed the TKD England Poomsae judges course or similar coaching course of a WTF affiliated body. Please contact us if you would be in-terested in judging at the event.

All judges/officials will receive lunch and refreshments throughout the competi-tion day.

It is our request that all judges dress in appropriate attire (shirt and tie etc.) in accordance to WTF / TKD England regulations.

The organisers shall try to ensure that regular breaks and rotation of judges is provided for all judges and officials.

English Open ChampionshipsFURTHER INFORMATION Awards: 1st, 2nd and two 3rd place medals shall be awarded in each category. There shall also be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall team trophies based on number of medals won by each team:

5pts Gold, 3pts Silver, 1pt Bronze

Protest:Only the official head coach is allowed to protest to the Competition Director. This must be made within 5 minutes of the end of the contest. A protest fee of £75 will be payable immediately to the competition board. This will be refunded if the protest is upheld.

Other Information:

Contestants can only enter a division once.

Age categories are based on the year of birth. For example, if someone is 17 years old on the day of the competition but will be 18 before the end of the year (2015) then he/she shall participate in the category of U30 (18 - 30 years old).

The organising committee reserves the right to make any necessary changes or amendments to the above information.

All competitors and coaches participate at their own risk.

Neither the organising committee nor TKD England Ltd will accept responsibility for any injuries, losses or damages sustained or incurred as a result of attendance at this event either as a coach, spectator, competitor or volunteer.

Photography & video recording:

By registering to compete at the event you are agreeing to have your image taken whilst in the venue by both the press and members of the public. In ad-dition, you are agreeing to have your image shown on video, TV and online.

Situations not covered by the rules:

Where any situation arises which is not covered by these rules, it shall be dealt with and decision given by the referee after consultation with the orga-nizing committee
