This is what food costs at Franco’s café. 1 curry and 1 tea cost £4. 2 curries and 2 puddings cost £9 1 pudding and 2 teas cost £2

What do you pay in total for 1 curry, 1 pudding and 1 tea? What does each item cost on its own? A goldfish costs £1.80. An angel fish costs £1.40 Nasreen paid exactly £20 for some fish. How many of each kind did she buy? Mrs Smith spent exactly £10 on 100 eggs for her shop. Large eggs cost her 50p each. Medium eggs cost her 10p each Small eggs cost her 5p. For two of the sizes, she bought the same number of eggs. How many of each size did she buy?

Chocolate bars cost 26p each. Fruit bars cost 18p each. Anil spent exactly £5 on a mixture of chocolate bars and fruit bars. How many of each did he buy?

How it works:

You will get twenty house points for handing in

one of the Topic tasks by Friday 7th June.

You can present your homework in the style of your choice.

Research a Mayan civilisation and present your findings in

any way you choose.

Write a letter to a Mayan person of your choice, asking them

any questions you would like to know the answers to.

Create a 3D map of a Mayan city.

Produce a diary of an explorer, describing what happened

when you discovered a new land.

Make a new chocolate bar, along with an advert for your

product.

At Cotteridge Primary School, we want our children to appreciate how valuable and

rewarding reading can be. As part of the AR program we will be rewarding pupils for

their individual successes during this process. Raffle tickets for successful quizzes as

well as certificates for the number of books read can be earned throughout the year.

There is also an ultimate goal, to be a “Cotteridge Million Word Reader”. This is

calculated by the number of words in each completed book being added together.

Year 6 Summer 1 Spellings

How it works:

Each Friday your child will receive a list of spellings to learn at home.

The sheet will be stuck into English homework books and is to be

handed in on Wednesdays. A dictation will take place on Wednesdays

to test how well your child has learned their spellings.
