ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES

English for Specific Purposes is the ideal course if you want to learn about a particular field and gain the confidence to talk about that subject in English, whether you need to know certain terminology for university study or want to succeed in a new job. You will not only improve your language skills with Kaplan, allowing you to build a better CV, but you will also study a range of English vocabulary and functional language related to a particular topic, giving you the foundation and preparation you may need for further education.

The curriculum blends a mix of Intensive English classes and specific purpose lessons, where you will be able to apply your new language skills to a range of topics. You can choose to study English for Medicine and gain the ability to communicate with patients. English for Finance allows you to discuss economic cycles with English co-workers, and English for Customer Service sets the perfect environment for learning how to clarify and explain something in English. With a carefully built curriculum, you’ll improve your vocabulary and gain functional language and a better understanding of a range of subjects.

HOW CAN YOU TAKE THIS COURSE?

• Available as part of a minimum 2-week Intensive English course • Vacation or General English students can upgrade to Intensive and add on English for Specific Purposes• Each subject runs for 4 weeks during the summer of 2017• Course start dates and topics vary based on location

COURSE BREAKDOWN

Each subject runs for 4 weeks, each week students will receive: • 20 lessons (15 hours) of General English• 8 lessons (6 hours) of English for Specific Purposes• Access to K +clubs study group, and K +tools and K +eXtra online learning
