• According to wikipedia, role model – is person whose behavior, example or success can be emulated by others

• According to Oxford online dictionary – (well the definition is sadistic but.. Here it goes

• Why I make them as role models?

• Simple. They don’t give a damn about what people think about them and they are not scared to express themselves.

• Now, this brings us to the main topic itself which is how role models play an important role in the growth of an individual.

Let’s face this, we are humans . We have our ups and down. Sometimes we are happy and sometimes we are sad. Having said that, in life sometimes we need to have someone that we look up to, that we make them as examples.

• Role model are important because they teach us :-

• Life Lessons

• As creatures of comfort oftentimes we refuse to abandon our comfort zone, lacking the motivation, not having or not feeling that strong urge within us. Example, do you know before Madonna became a star, she left her hometown and took a plane to New york with only $35 in her pocket? She had to resort to sleep at the streets. This teaches us, sometimes we need to taste the bitterness of hardship in order to succeed. It also teaches us to be thankful with whatever we have as we don’t have to go through that kind of hardship in order to achieve something.

• Confidence- - When we emulate people, we tend to observe the way how they behave. The way they talk, the way they bring themselves are one of the factors that influence our confidence .

• Model for living- For instance if you've always wanted to be a singer, then seeing someone who is successfully living that dream not only gives you a concrete example to aspire to and to show that it can be done, but it also gives you a template for how to go about achieving that. You can see how they approached their aim, and then you can see if taking a similar approach works for you. This also gives you the motivation to keep going, and hopefully when you see that person perform you will be inspired anew, and you will be motivated to do your own training.

• Principles-- stand up to your principles if you think it is right even if you have to stand alone. When we have a role model, we view life from a different perspective and we tend to have a wider view of life.

• To sum it all up, we need role models so that we have the courage to get out from out comfort zone
