Introduction England Golf are pleased to announce the respective schedules and points distributions for the 2020 Orders of Merit. A consistent system of awarding points


will continue to be applied across all six schedules, ensuring the amateur golfers that perform on the golf course are suitably rewarded within their respective table. The England Golf Orders of Merit provide a recognised schedule of events in which the top English amateur golfers can compete within their respective categories. The tables of players produced is not intended to form a strict ranking of English amateurs by ability but the results will continue to be used for qualification purposes for the European Team Championships and Home Internationals at Women’s and Men’s level, in combination with the selections from the appropriate committee. The Order of Merit tables will be used as a guideline by the England Selectors along with other ranking systems and performance information that exists within amateur golf when selecting the remaining team places.

The England Golf Senior Women’s and Senior Men’s Order of Merit, will be used for team qualification purposes for the European Team Championships and Home Internationals, following the same policy that has worked well in the game over recent years. For both the Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s teams, the top four players will automatically qualify for the European Team Championships and likewise the top five players for the Home Internationals, at the date of selection. The remaining places on each team will be filled by the appropriate selection committee.

For full details on the selection of England Golf Teams and Squads and the number of automatic qualification places for each team, please refer to the England Golf Selection Policy document, available on the England Golf website.
