WHO WE AREFive friends who wanted to change their way of giving.

Together, they dreamed of multiplying the impact of their individual giving, so they created IMPACT GIVING, a women’s collective giving organization dedicated to effecting positive social change and transforming lives in our communities, our

nation, and around the world.

Today, we are over 125 women who have awarded 65 grantsfor nonprofits, both locally and globally for a total of $1.3 million dollars.

What a year 2019 has been! Thank you to Impact Giving’s Partners and contributors as we celebrate a decade of experiencing the power of women and the impact of collective giving. In those 10 years, we have helped us award $1.3 million through 65 grants to local and global nonprofit organizations.

In 2019, Impact Giving grants supported:

My heartfelt gratitude is extended to those who continue to make Impact Giving a priority in their busy lifestyles. We are excited about the growth of Impact Giving and look forward to further grow our organization over the next decade. The amazing work we have achieved over the years would not be possible without all of our supporter’s passion, dedication, and hard work.

• The purchase of a new Cleveland Tilt Brazier for Bracken’s Kitchen, which has helped provide over 150,000 additional healthy meals for the hungry people of Orange County

• Training for 296 Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), who support 296 transitional age foster care youth, providing guidance, education, life skills and a consistent presence as they move to self-sufficiency

• 4 of 20 Dragon Kim Foundation fellowship teams that provide youth leadership training and 1-1 mentoring to a diverse group of 41 young adults looking to better their community in Orange County

• The launch of the Corneal Blindness Prevention Program in 2 districts of Nepal, providing cutting-edge corneal blindness prevention programs and health education with the help of 142 female volunteers through SightLife

• The building of local well in Kenya, in partnership with The Samburu Project, to help improve the lives of over 1,000 women, children and families, as well as providing education to about 150 women on health, leadership, the importance of education and rights to equality

• The renovation of Warrior Foundation Freedom Station II, which is a transitional housing opportunity for warriors who sustained injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan.

2019 GRANT RECIPIENTS

$25,000 GRANTCorneal blindness is a preventable loss ofsight caused by damage to the surface ofthe eye. It is particularly prevalent anddevastating in developing countries.SightLife is currently running two cutting-edge corneal blindness preventionprograms in Nepal and India. An ImpactGiving grant funded two new sites outsideof Katmandu.

Funds are being used in the building ofFreedom Station II in San Diego, which willprovide transitional housing to warriors whohave sustained injuries in Iraq andAfghanistan, and are either active duty orrecently medically retired military personnel.

$24,400 GRANT$22,000 for a water well supporting andproviding to a community of approximately1000 people. $2,400 provides SamburuSisters Workshop (SSW) for that community.Mandatory hygiene and sanitationworkshops are completed by each wellcommunity. SSW provides education forabout 150 women on health, leadership,importance of education, rights to equality.

Purchased a Cleveland Tilt Brazier with a40-gallon capacity to create more stewsand soups, a new hood and kitchenexhaust system build-out that facilitatescooking 90 chickens simultaneously (in anoven purchased with other funds) whichallows them to meet 2019 goals to increasetheir food service program by 100%.

$20,000 GRANTFunds are supporting the Dragon KimFellowship Program, providing financialsupport, leadership training, and 1-1mentoring to a diverse group of 41youth to develop and implementimpactful community service projectsestimated to serve over 2,000underserved individuals within ourcommunity.

CASA of OC currently has a waitlist of 225foster children that are seeking the supportof a specially trained advocate. The largestgroup are Transitional Age Youth (TAY). Themoney provided will directly correlate to anincrease in the number of youth that areable to be served. Money will be used totrain the CASAs, match them with youth,and provide direct support to CASAs bytrained supervisors.
