6. Once the odours are trapped can they

come out of the sheet?

No, the unique sheet strongly traps andholds the malodours.

7. Uniqueness?

This unique fi lter represents years of research and testing by Kimberly-Clark scientists and engineers to develop a new to the world advanced system to tackle challenging malodour issues. Patents have been applied for.

8. Is this technology proprietary to KCP?

Yes, K-C has Intellectual Property (IP) on certain aspects of this product (including the dual odour control performance).

9. Why have we added citric acid? What is

its function?

Citric acid reacts irreversibly with the ammonia and amine odour to eff ectively neutralize those odours.

10. Why a dual technology combination?

The black layer works with the white layer to deliver a unique synergistic malodour reduction that is multiple times stronger than one layer by itself. Thus the malodour molecules are removed leaving the air fresh and odour free.

Enfresh* Odour Control System

Frequently Asked Questions(FAQs)

1. How does this solution work?

(vs. air-fresheners)

The fi lter is designed and engineered to absorb and neutralize malodours as soon as they contact the surface. Air-fresheners use strong fragrance to cover-up the odour, sometimes making the odour worse.

2. Neutralization vs masking

The fi lter absorbs and neutralizes the odour on contact. Masking is the use of strong fragrance to cover-up the malodour.

3. How does it do that?

1-2 punch. The black layer works with the white layer to deliver a unique synergistic malodour reduction that is multiple times stronger than one layer by itself.

4. How does Activated Carbon (AC) work?

AC is engineered to have a huge surface area (1 teaspoon equal to tennis court in surface area.) Odour molecules migrate into the pores of the AC and get physisorbed on to the surface.

5. How does Citric Acid (CA) work?

Citric acid reacts irreversibly with the ammonia and amine odour to eff ectively neutralize those odours.

17. What proof / data do we have that will

show the system works?

We have an extensive pool of data from both Lab and from fi eld that indicate noticeable odour removal performance when using the Enfresh* system.

18. Which side should be facing out?

Black/white?

Your KCP sales person can help you decide after conducting an on-site analysis of your restroom. Typically the white side works best for urine-based malodours and the black-side works best for feces/fecal malodours.

19. Can I put 2 sheets instead of one – or

½ a sheet?

Under normal situations one whole sheet per dispenser is recommended. For high malodour situation two sheets can be placed in the same dispenser. It is not recommended to use a half sheet.

20. Should it be used only when there is a

problem?

No, the fi lter has been shown to help reduce stale, musty and other smells to keep the restroom with fresh air.

21. Will it work in wet / humid environments?

Yes, this unique technology has been clinically tested and shown to work in wet / humid environments.

22. Many APAC countries have high levels

of humidity and hot climates. Are the

sheets impacted by storage or use in

these climates?

Extensive testing has shown that the sheets are not aff ected by storage in high humidity environments. Ideally, they should be stored in their original packaging until ready to be used. This stops them from absorbing malodour while sitting on the shelf or cabinet.

11. How can it distinguish between malodour

and good odours?

Most bad odour components diff er structurally from good odours and this unique fi lter selectively removes the bad leaving most of the good odours.

12. Is it safe? Can it be used if some of the offi ce

workers are allergic to fragrances?

Yes it is very safe and benign. Since it has no fragrance it is safe to use in areas where people are sensitive/allergic to fragrances.

13. Doesn’t exposure to the air stop the sheets

working?

No, these sheets have been engineered to work in air by absorbing and trapping the malodour components in the air leaving the air fresh and odourless.

14. How long does it take to work in

washroom?

Depending on the odour intensity it can take 1–3hrs.

15. How does a customer tell if the sheets

are “full”?

If the sheet is full, then the malodour will return and be noticeable.

16. How do I know when to refi ll/change

the sheet?

Based on the average washroom traffi c in an offi ce building, twice a week is optimal. If the washroom experiences very high traffi c or strong malodour situations, daily would be recommended.

Product related FAQs

1. Refi ll packaging: Is it air proof? Shelf life

of refi lls?

Yes, the replacement fi lters are sealed in plastic bags in order that they do not absorb odours in transportation or storage. The fi lters have been designed, engineered and tested to be stable for 2 years in storage.

2. Does the dispenser inhibit AC performance?

No, the dispenser has been designed and tested to not impact the performance.

3. How do I know it’s working?

Your KCP salesperson can help you with this and also by monitoring your occupants’ complaint levels.

4. What are the best locations?

(distribution in restroom)

It is recommended to place one fi lter in each stall and near the urinals at waist height to maximize the air fl ow around the dispenser.

5. Do I really need one in each stall?

Yes, our clinical studies have shown that one dispenser per stall delivers the best effi cacy and maximum malodour removal and control.

6. How do you assess the restroom odour

situation?

Your KCP sales contact can help you with this. Also, you can monitor your occupants’ complaints.

7. Can it be used on fl oor drains or air vents?

Yes you could, although we have not conducted testing for this application.

8. Cost-wise comparison AC vs Air fresheners?

If our sheets are replaced 2x per week, it is roughly parity with the fi rst two competitive options (Rubbermaid Microburst/T-Cell system), but still has superior benefi ts (odour elimination vs. masking).

23. How does this system work compared to

competitive air care products?

We conducted a series of sensory studies which proved a signifi cant improvement in bathroom malodour and ammonia (urine) odour removal, compared to top air freshener products existing in the market.

24. How does it work in combination with air

fresheners?

The two products complement each other and when they are located correctly in the washroom, this combination allows the end-user to enjoy the air freshener scent, now that the bad odours have been removed by the ACCA technology. The chooser can now use less air freshener and not overwhelm the end user trying to mask the malodours.

25. Interaction / performance with cleaning

products?

Some odour of the cleaning products could be absorbed and neutralized by the fi lter. The fi lter will not interfere with the surface cleaning action of the cleaning products.

26. Do we need to use PPE when replacing the

technology?

No PPE required. Gloves can be used during the refi ll process (optional).

27. How do we dispose of it?

Simply remove from the holder and place in the trash. The fi lter has no harmful ingredients.

9. Does this replace the current aircare

systems? If not how do we justify the

additional costs to the customer?

Other aircare systems typically involve supplying fresh air or fi ltered (particulate-free) air. This new system removes malodours from the air.

10. Sheet Size is too big:

There are limitations on the sheet size in order to make a noticeable odour removal. We would risk the product performance if we reduce sheet size/dispenser size.

11. Sheet Change Indicator:

There is no “smart” indicator for the fi rst generation dispenser, but we are planning to add a refi ll communication message (reminder) to the dispenser. Training, instructions, and a log method for the cleaning crew will be recommended as good practices to help with product refi ll compliance. Also, for the second generation, we are working to test prototypes with a smart indicator as part of the dispenser.

12. Will there be a sample pack we can give to

customers to help convince them?

Yes, talk with your sales rep to get samples.

13. Security from sheet theft?

None

14. Security from dispenser theft?

Dispenser comes with screw mounting as an optional mounting solution for situation when a permanent mounting is required.

15. System lock out – can competitors

make refi lls, as the AC technology is not

proprietary?

We have a dual Odour control technologies (AC + Citric acid) that is unique on performance for targeted washroom odours. By simply replacing our sheet with any other odour control sheet does not mean you get the noticeable odour removal performance our system off ers.
