• Install in coolest and shady part of the room;
• Reduction of heat gain;

• Set the thermostat at comfortable temperature;
• Use fans in conjunction with your air conditioning unit;
• Seal and insulate ductwork;• Keep your air conditioning unit clean;

airtight;• Set the temperature of the
refrigerator between 3o and 4oC, set the freezer between -18o and -15oC;
• Keep the freezer full, even if you just fill it with containers of water; and
• Defrost freezer when the ice is ¼” thick.
Lighting Tips• Turn lights off in any room
you’re not using;• Use task lighting;• Keep bulbs and luminaires clean;
and• Take advantage of day-light.

bulbs (Ibs) to compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs); and
• CFLs use 1/5th of the energy of Ibs, last 8 times longer and are cost effective.

• Set appliances and equipment to energy saving features;
• Use laptop computers;• Use inkjet printers; and• Use email.
