26-28 MAY, 2013 - FIRST ANNUAL YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATORS CONFERENCE IN RUSSIA. STARTUP VILLAGE - one of the most ambitious start-up conferences in Russia, organized by Skolkovo in cooperation with partners. The conference is the first this year and will be held annually. The project is aimed at establishing the production of a unique material with improved characteristics at the facilities of Doncarb Graphite;
Project start – 2011, production launch – 2014; Production prime cost is 15-20% lower than that of similar foreign products; $28m will be invested into the project.
Electronics (semiconductors): crucibles and heaters for furnaces for extra pure silicon production; solar-array cells; LCD displays;
Metallurgy: fiber-optic cable production; crucibles for fusing non-ferrous metals; fittings for continuous casting technology; industrial furnaces;
Mechanical engineering: bearing parts; seals; EDM processing;
Power engineering: long term adapters; rod elements for gas and nuclear reactors; heat diverters; carbon fiber;
Other: glass and quartz production; laboratory items; jewelry production.

Product/technology• Isostatic graphite is a new type material which was
presented in the latest fifty years. It has better properties compared to ordinary graphite materials such as
– Isotropic properties– good electric conductivity; heat conductivity; high
strength under high temperature; self lubrication; high temperature resistance, high bulk density etc.
• Technology innovations: we are going to achieve better parameters of Isostatic graphite in comparison with competitors (see table below) by usage of nanostructured pitch matrix and testing low temperature graphitizing stage (the most energy-intensive part of technology) for decreasing temperature from 2800-3000 C till 1300-2000 C
• Project stage – laboratory technology development– preparation of industrial site
