energiedata 4.0 GmbH was founded to offer a stable WLAN infrastructure with quick internet as a contribution to

Smart City for towns and municipalities as a technology supplier.

Strategically and politically demanded energiedata 4.0 GmbH has developed a solution “City System 4.0” which

is required by towns, municipalities and Telecom providers to supply fast Internet solutions primarily in small

towns and rural areas.

The Cities/Municipalities will in the future be able to offer its citizens and guests the possibility to interact virtually

among themselves, institutions and logistics. Until today there is no technological solution that is barrier-free, fast

and accessible for everyone.

With City System 4.0 as Last Mile bridge technology to the fibre optics, energiedata 4.0 GmbH has created a

trendsetting infrastructure solution. This is reached by a highly efficient WLAN network which covers a given area

by access points integrated into the street lighting (phase 1 2016 - 2018).

With this system Internet access and other Telecommunication services, smart city solutions and local

advertisement concepts can be provided (phase 2 > 2018).

The backbone network (fibre optics) of the large carrier is built in most cases for cost reasons only to the MDF

(Main Distribution Frame) and to single DF’s (Distribution Frames). From the DF’s to the buildings the old copper

cables are still used.

To bridge the last mile with slow copper cables means that the speed of the fibre optics never gets to the end

user. energiedata 4.0 GmbH has developed a solution which brings the broadband closer to the household and

with that to the end user.

This system is suited in particular for rural, low broadband capacity areas, for strongly frequented areas of

towns as well as for a fast and stable WLAN as a complement to the broadband net.

With the use of IEEE 802.11n in the 5 GHz range this technology reaches up to 450 MBit/s.

The free WLAN IEEE 802.11g+n (2,4 GHz) can transfer up to 150 Mbit/s. On the industrial radio network

consumption data are transported (smart metering).

stream.

• Local shops and newspapers can bring their information and news much easier to the consumers.

• Read-out/Access to all consumption data, e.g. water/electricity/heating/gas.

• Geotracking creates a realtime map of people inside the WLAN-area. This captured data of time and

frequency allows to optimize the urban planning and traffic monitoring.
