The PolyCatch is designed for the endoscopic retrieval of polyps and foreign bodies from the gastrointestinal tract. The latex-free retrieval pouch saves time and is user-friendly for easy removal of polyps such as large and/or sessile polyps, which are indicated for piecemeal resection. Compared to prong-type polyp graspers, the PolyCatch retrieval device secures the specimen without damaging the tissue for accurate pathologic examination.

The PolyCatch is also perfect for extraction of swallowed foreign bodies such as coins, batteries and small toys as well as removal of bezoar fragments. The rotational function of the instrument allows a precise positioning.

The product model no. GFB-08-15-120 is compatible with accessory channels of 2.0 mm diameter and is recommended for pediatric gastroscopes.

StoneBuster® – “Injectable” Mechanical Lithotripsy System

The StoneBuster® system is a very comprehensive and effective system intended to crush and to manage large and impacted stones in the common bile duct via flexible endoscopy.

The unique StoneBuster® Handle is user friendly and is capable of providing sufficiently high tensions to the surface of a biliary stone via the metal spiral and lithotripsy basket components of the system, resulting in crushing of the stone. One of the key advantages, apart from the power and user-friendliness of the StoneBuster® system is the ability to effectively and safely manage an emergency lithotripsy case without significantly increasing risk to the patient.

In addition to the overall flexibility of the StoneBuster® system, it also offers the convenience of easy assembly and fewer device components. Medi-Globe offers individual or set system components and is available in single use or reusable formats.

The StoneBuster® system offers a

wide range of treatment options. The

pre-assembled, sterile and ready to use

Stone Crushing Set, (GML-11-26-XXX) in

combination with the StoneBuster® Handle,

(GML-99-01-000) offer the possibility to

a) cannulate the papilla, b) capture a biliary stone and c) crush it, all without exchange of system components.

The metal spiral is equipped with a Luer-lock

port making it possible to inject contrast as

necessary during the procedure.

One Step Stone Crushing Set

For patients with difficult anatomies,

cannulation of the biliary system is made

easier with the StoneBuster’s pre-assembled

Basket Insertion Set, (GML-06-26-XXX).

After easier cannulation and positioning of the

basket is performed by using the softer and

more flexible Basket Insertion Set, the plastic

sheath of the Basket Insertion Set is replaced

by an “injectable” metal spiral (GML-91-26-180).

The process of mechanical lithotripsy is then

completed by attachment and utilization of the

StoneBuster® Handle, (GML-99-01-000)

to crush the biliary stone(s).

In the unusual case where a biliary stone is unable to be crushed

and reduced in size using the standard lithotripsy procedure,

Medi-Globe offers an Emergency Spiral, (GML-90-34-080) to safely

complete the lithotripsy procedure. The Emergency Spiral is shorter

and of larger diameter than the “injectable” metal spiral,

(GML-91-26-180) and will generate much higher levels of basket

tension around the stone. Use of the Emergency Spiral is performed

by first, removing the “injectable” metal spiral from the basket cable

and then advancing the Emergency Spiral over the basket cable in its

place. The StoneBuster® Handle, (GML-99-01-000) is then attached to

the Emergency Spiral and the basket cable is also securely fixed to the

StoneBuster® Handle. The procedure of mechanical lithotripsy is then

continued in order to crush the stone, or in extreme situations, break

the basket wire(s) allowing the stone to be released and the basket

safely removed from the patient.

Bavarian Guide Wires are mainly indicated for cannulation and placement of diagnostic and therapeutic instruments in the biliary and pancreatic systems. The guide wire may be left in place during sphincterotomy. Users can choose between a “Soft Tip” and a slightly stiffer “Standard Tip” version. The guide wire is autoclavable and accepts a reuse, depending of the instrument integrity after the fi rst-time use.

EasyPass Guide Wires are featured with a super fl exible 8 cm long highly radiopaque and hydrophilic tip. This EasyPass guide wire has outstanding performance characteristics and provides enhanced maneuverability through diffi cult to access anatomical structures. The Tefl on coated Nitinol guide wire may be left in place during sphincterotomy.

These EUS-FNA systems, also well known as type “Hancke-Vilmann” needles, are particularly designed and manufactured for a specifi c range of Pentax Fibre Ultrasound Endoscopes. The SonoTip® EBUS Pro Flex is the first EBUS-TBNA system in the world that features a needle comprised entirely of Nitinol.

The dimensionally stable and kink resistant properties of Nitinol prevent the needle from sustaining a permanent bend resulting in what is known as the “Banana-Effect” as the needle is advanced through the endoscope’s curved and angulated positions. Other materials traditionally used to manufacture needles are susceptible to permanent bends or kinks.

The Nitinol needle supports the linear alignment of the needle below the ultrasound transducer resulting in optimal visibility during needle guidance and puncture. Additionally, the Nitinol needle resists needle deformation after the initial puncture resulting in smooth and easy advancement through the accessory channel of the endoscope and consistently straight and precise positioning in repeated passes.

The SonoTip® EBUS Pro is equipped with a stainless steel needle.

Both models, SonoTip® EBUS Pro Flex and SonoTip® EBUS Pro use the unique patented Twist-Lock technology for precise sheath and needle length adjustment. The new and more user friendly handle design allows “one hand” operation by the clinician while maintaining the endoscope’s position during the procedure.

Finally, the overall handle length of the SonoTip® EBUS Pro systems is shortened in order to meet better the specific and ergonomic requirements of the bronchoscopy procedure.

SonoTip®II EBUS Flex is comprised of a complete dimensionally stable Nitinol needle. The latex-free biopsy valves are used to cover and seal the opening of accessory channel inlet of gastroscopes, colonoscopes and duodenoscopes. The valves:

Medi-Globe’s reusable “Hot” biopsy forceps is a two-piece instrument. One unit is comprised of the long catheter and forceps cups as referenced in our product catalog, (catalog no. 406XXXH & 407XXXH). The second required device component is the handle, (catalog no.100500) which is compatible with all Medi-Globe “Hot” biopsy forceps catheter units. This two-piece component system permits individual component replacement as necessary, without having to purchase a complete new instrument.

Medi-Globe´s “Hot” biopsy forceps handle is directly compatible with Olympus manufactured electro-surgical generators. To ensure compatibility with other types of electro-surgical generator units, please refer to the “Active Cords” section of this leaflet to select the appropriate active cord for your electro-surgical generator.

Bavarian Guide Wires

Bavarian Guide Wires are mainly indicated for cannulation and placement of diagnostic and therapeutic instruments in the biliary and pancreatic systems. The guide wire may be left in place during sphincterotomy. Users can choose between a “Soft Tip” and a slightly stiffer “Standard Tip” version.

The guide wire is autoclavable and accepts a reuse, depending of the instrument integrity after the first time use.

RotaCut®Sphincterotomes – Reusable

Medi-Globe’s reusable sphincterotome is a two-piece instrument. One unit is comprised of the sphincterotome catheter and the second required device component is the handle (Catalog No. 100520), which is compatible with all Medi-Globe sphincterotome catheters. This two piece component system permits individual component replacement as necessary, without having to purchase a complete new instrument.

ReusableStone Extraction Baskets

Medi-Globe´s stone extraction basket sets offer a certain compatibility with the StoneBuster – mechanical lithotripsy system. Sets with the catalog model nos. 60XXXX are fully detachable and in emergency case the Teflon tube can be replaced against an emergency spiral (catalog no. GML-90-34-080) and connected to StoneBuster handle (catalog no. GML-99-01-000) to exercise an emergency lithotripsy for a basket removal out of the patient.

Combi - Sets with the catalog model nos. 615XXX are for use as stone extraction basket and depending on the situation also as lithotripsy basket. The Teflon tube can be replaced by a standard lithotripsy metal spiral (catalog no. GML-90-26-180) and in connection with StoneBuster handle (catalog no. GML-99-01-000) a through the endoscope mechanical lithotripsy can be performed.
