2 Common Operation

2.1 Logging In to a Virtual Desktop Using a TC

Scenario

Log in to a Campspace virtual desktop by using a TC.

Procedure

Step 1 Connect all cables and power on the TC.

Step 2 Click Start, and choose Control Center.

Step 3 In Control Center, select Cloud Client.

Step 4 Click Add. In the Edit Server Info window that is displayed, set Server Name to acustomized name and set Server Address to the address obtained from the notification email.

Step 5 Click OK to save the configuration information.

Step 6 Click Launch to go to the VM login page.

Step 7 On the VM login page, enter your domain account and password, and click Login to go to theVM list page.

Step 8 On the VM list page, click to log in to the VM.

Scenario

Log in to a Campspace virtual desktop by using a browser.

ProcedureNOTE

A Windows PC is used as an example in the following steps. The specific operation steps may bedifferent on different OSs.

Step 1 Open the browser, enter the virtual desktop login address obtained from the notification emailin the address box, and press Enter.

The virtual desktop login page is displayed.

Step 2 Enter your domain account and password, and click Login.

The VM list page is displayed.

Step 3 On the VM list page, click to log in to the VM.

Step 4 Install the client plug-in upon your first login.

Scenario

Log in to a Campspace virtual desktop by using an SC.

ProcedureNOTE

Step 4 Install the cloud client software.

Step 5 After the cloud client software is installed, double-click the CloudClient icon on the desktopto start the SC.

Step 6 On the Address Manager page, click Add. In the Edit Server Info window that is displayed,set Server Name to a customized name and set Server Address to the address obtained fromthe notification email.

NOTE

The Edit Server Info window will be displayed automatically upon your first login.

Step 7 Click OK to save the configuration information.

Step 8 Click Launch to go to the VM login page.

2.4 Logging In to a Virtual Desktop Using a MobileTerminal (Android)

ScenarioFusionAccess is an application installed on a mobile terminal and used for accessing andusing Campspace virtual desktops. If you need to use Campspace virtual desktops to work athome or during your trips, you can download FusionAccess to your Android devices and useit to access and use Campspace virtual desktops.

NOTICEPasswords cannot be changed on mobile terminals currently. When you log in to your virtualdesktop for the first time, you need to use a TC or PC to log in to your virtual desktop andchange the default password.

Procedure

Step 1 Open the application store on your Android mobile terminal.

Step 2 Search for FusionAccess.

Step 3 Download and install the FusionAccess desktop client software.

Step 4 After the FusionAccess software is installed, open the software on your Android mobileterminal.

Step 5 Tap Add Account.

Step 6 On the Add page that is displayed, set Label to customized description, set Address and UserName to the address and username obtained from the notification email, and set Password tothe new password.

Step 7 Tap save in the upper-right corner to save the configuration.

Step 8 On the home page of the FusionAccess software, tap the Label that you set to log in to thevirtual desktop.

2.5 Logging In to a Virtual Desktop Using a MobileTerminal (iOS)

Scenario

FusionAccess is an application installed on a mobile terminal and used for accessing andusing Campspace virtual desktops. If you need to use Campspace virtual desktops to work athome or during your trips, you can download FusionAccess to your iOS devices and use it toaccess and use Campspace virtual desktops.

NOTICEPasswords cannot be changed on mobile terminals currently. When you log in to your virtualdesktop for the first time, you need to use a TC or PC to log in to your virtual desktop andchange the default password.

Procedure

Step 1 Open App Store on your iOS mobile terminal.

Step 3 Download and install the FusionAccess desktop client software.

Step 4 After the FusionAccess software is installed, open the software on your iOS mobile terminal.

Step 5 Tap New Account.

Step 6 Tap in the upper-right corner.

The New Account page is displayed.

Step 7 Set Description to customized description, set Address and User Name to the address andusername obtained from the notification email, and set Password to the new password.

Step 8 Tap Save in the upper-right corner to save the configuration.

2.6 Forbidden OperationsCampspace virtual desktops provide on-demand services based on network and workdepending on OSs and network configurations in VMs. This section describes some riskyoperations on virtual desktops.

These operations do not need to be adjusted in normal situations. If they must be adjusted,contact the system administrator first.

Forbidden Operations (Processes and Services)1. Change the default service and startup options in the system configuration, as shown in

Figure 2-1.

2. Run the script or command for modifying a route, such as route DELETE *.3. Delete ports 28511, 28512, 28521, and 28522 from Windows firewall exception options.4. Enable software or tools, such as the IPsec, that can restrict network traffic.

5. Install a customized screensaver with complex transformation functions, whichconsumes system resources and causes a delay in virtual desktop access.

2.7 Failed to Connect to Virtual DesktopsDuring the use of Campspace virtual desktops, virtual desktops may fail to be connected due

to misoperations. If this happens, you can click to resolve the problem.

2.8 Dual-Screen Display ConfigurationWhen accessing Campspace virtual desktops using TCs, perform the following operations toconfigure dual-screen display.

PrerequisitesTable 2-1 lists the materials required for configuring dual-screen display.

Step 1 Power on the TC.

Step 2 Perform the following operation based on the TC type.l If a Linux TC is used, go to Step 3.l If a Windows TC is used, go to Step 8.

Step 3 Click Start, and choose Control Center.

Step 4 Double-click Display.

Step 5 Select Optimum settings.

Step 6 Select the display mode based on site requirements.l Duplicatel Extend

l If two virtual desktops and two screens are used, go to Step 2.

Step 2 Log in to the virtual desktop using the client. For details, see Logging In to a VirtualDesktop Using an SC.

Step 3 Click Settings.

Step 4 Select Open Multiple Monitor (The configuration will take effect after reconnect).

Step 5 Click Close.

The task is completed.

Step 6 Log in to a virtual desktop using the client. For details, see Logging In to a Virtual DesktopUsing an SC.

Step 7 Click Settings.

Step 8 Deselect Open Multiple Monitor (The configuration will take effect after reconnect).

Step 9 Click Close.

Step 10 Log in to the other virtual desktop and repeat Step 6 to Step 9.

Step 11 Drag the two virtual desktops to different screens to achieve dual-screen display.

2.9 Freezing of Virtual Desktops

Scenario

If a fault such as desktop freezing or slow response occurs when you use a Campspace virtualdesktop, rectify the fault by performing operations recommended in this section.

Method 1: Stopping Unnecessary Processes1. On the virtual desktop, open Task Manager, as shown in the following figure:

Method 2: Restarting the Desktop1. Save user documents.

2. Choose Start > Restart or click to restart the desktop, as shown in the followingfigure.

3. On the login page that is displayed, enter the user domain account and password.

4. In the virtual desktop list, click to enter the virtual desktop.

2.10 Querying the Compatibility of Campspace with OtherSoftware

During the use of Campspace, you can use the Huawei FusionCloud SolutionCompatibility Check Assistant to choose compatible software.

2.11 HDPDeviceHelper Peripheral AssistantIf you encounter peripheral configuration problems when using Campspace, you can useHDPDeviceHelper for configuration.

1. In the VM list, click under the VM icon to open the self-help console and log into the VM.

2. Choose Start > Huawei vDesk. Start HDPDeviceHelper and configure peripheralsfollowing the instructions.

3.1 What Devices Can Be Used to Log In to Campspace?You can log in to Campspace using TCs, SCs, browsers, Android terminals, and iOSterminals.

3.2 What Are the Precautions for Using Campspace?Campspace virtual desktops provide on-demand services based on network and workdepending on OSs and network configurations in VMs. This section describes some riskyoperations on virtual desktops.

3.3 What OSs Can Run on Campspace?Campspace runs the Windows 7 OS to provide smooth desktop experience for you.

3.4 Can I Install or Upgrade OSs by Myself?Campspace must use OSs provided by Huawei Enterprise Cloud or OSs made based on theOSs provided by Huawei Enterprise Cloud. You are not allowed to add or upgrade an OS butcan install OS patches.

3.5 Can Applications Be Installed on Campspace?By default, end users are configured as local administrators of Campspace and can installapplications. Administrators can modify the setting to prevent end users from installingapplications.

NOTE

For system stability, you are advised to use legitimate software.

3.6 What Software Is Campspace Compatible With?Campspace has no restrictions on software. Any application that is compatible with Windows7 can run on Campspace. Before installing software on Campspace, you are advised to use theHuawei FusionCloud Solution Compatibility Check Assistant to check whether thesoftware is compatible with Campspace.

3.7 How Does Campspace Manage Peripherals?If you encounter peripheral configuration problems when using Campspace, you can useHDPDeviceHelper for configuration.

3.8 Does Campspace Support Personalized Settings?Administrators can determine the end users who can personalize virtual desktops. By default,after logging in to Campspace, end users can personalize items, such as wallpapers, icons, andshortcuts for OSs. The settings will be retained until the next modification.

Administrators can use policies, such as USB Redirection, Printer Redirection, FileRedirection, and Clipboard Redirection to control data transmission and peripheral accesspermission between end users and Campspace.

NOTICEInstalling a customized screensaver with complex transformation functions consumes systemresources and causes a delay in virtual desktop access.

3.9 Can Data in Campspace Be Saved for a Long Time?Yes. End users use separated Campspace virtual desktops. Applications, documents, settings,and other data can be saved for a long time.

3.10 How Can I Use a Local Printer for Printing?If you have configured a local printer, the printer will be selected by default. If no printer isconfigured, you need to configure one. Then select the local printer from the printing menuand click Print.

3.11 How Can I Use a Network Printer for Printing?Any printer that resides in the same network as Campspace and is supported by Windows canbe added as a network printer. After a network printer is added, you can select the printer inapplications for printing.

3.14 What Can I Do If I Forget the Password?If you lose or forget the login password, you can contact the administrator to reset thepassword. Then the new password will be sent to your email address by the system.

3.15 What Can I Do If the Account Is Locked?Your account will be locked if you enter an incorrect password consecutively. If this happens,contact the administrator to unlock the account.

3.16 Does Campspace Support Dual-Screen Display?When accessing Campspace virtual desktops using TCs, perform the following operations toconfigure dual-screen display.
