infinite options
The Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST) is a non-profit association established in 1981. Our mission is to promote, encourage and empower women and girls in science, engineering and technology.
ms infinity programs introduce girls to exciting career options and positive female role models in science and technology. Together, we bust the myths about scientists and their careers… you don’t need to wear a lab coat to be a scientist!

Quantum Leaps
One important aspect of our programming is the one-day conferences we sponsor in communities throughout British Columbia and the Yukon, which enable girls in high school to experience hands-on math and science workshops. But we can’t do this alone…
An included guide will provide important information on essentials such as timelines, budgeting, and volunteer requirements to help ensure the success of the event
Our conferences show girls how exciting science can be and where studying science can take them. Community partners and their committees create hands-on workshops, motivating keynote speeches and career games
“Seeing women being successful in their field is more inspiring than just being told about the jobs out there.”– Yukon Quantum Leaps Participant, 2009
