DRIVER DISTRACTION ■ prohibits the use of cell phones (both hand-held
and hands-free; both work and personal) and other electronic devices while driving a company vehicle or a personal/rental vehicle on company business
■ establishes requirements for two-way radios, programming/adjusting GPS devices and satellite radios and other driver distractions

■ considers road and weather conditions, emergency callout protocol, fatigue, nighttime driving, etc.

DRIVER QUALIFICATION & AUTHORIZATION
■ requires that drivers be employees and age 18 or older with a valid driver’s license in good standing to operate a motor vehicle on behalf of the company
■ requires that employees authorize the company to obtain and pass a Driver License Record or Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check upon hire and periodically thereafter
DRIVER COMMITMENT ■ requires that all company drivers commit
to the Driving Safety Practice sign off/commitment form biannually as part of the policy commitment

COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE REGULATORY COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
■ contains the practices, procedures and forms used to comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act (FMCSA) requirements in the U.S. and the National Safety Code in Canada
■ establishes criteria for FMCSA compliance in the U.S. for those employees driving a commercial motor vehicle or a vehicle with trailer having a Combined Gross Vehicle Weight Rating over 10,000 pounds
MOTOR VEHICLE INCIDENT REPORTING ■ provides the procedures and forms for reporting a
Motor Vehicle Incident (MVI) using the Glove Box Vehicle Accident Reporting Kit in the U.S. or the Collision Reporting Kit in Canada
■ requires all MVI’s involving a company vehicle to be reported immediately to the employee’s supervisor, safety coordinator, fleet vendor and Encana’s Incident Management System (IMS)
■ requires all traffic violations, tickets or citations received by company-assigned vehicle drivers be reported immediately to the employee’s supervisor
■ sets the expectation that employees may be subject to post-incident alcohol and drug testing
DRIVER FITNESS AND ALERTNESS ■ requires adherence to Encana’s Alcohol & Drug
Policy and Fitness for Work Practice
■ sets an expectation that employees disclose (to their supervisor or Human Resources) any physical/medical condition or prescription medication that may impair an employee’s ability to operate a vehicle safely while on company business
■ requires vision screening (U.S.) or Periodic Health Assessments (CAN) every two years for fleet drivers
