S Dr APJ Abdul Kalam served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. Before his term as President, he worked as an aerospace engineer with Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). He has received several prestigious awards, including the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour.

Dr Apathukatha Sivathanu Pillai is a distinguished Scientist, and the recently retired Chief Controller R&D, DRDO and CE & MD of Brahmos Aeroscape - the Highly Acclaimed Indo- Russian joint Venture for the Design, development, production and marketing of Brahmos, the world leader in cruise missile technology.

Maj Gen (Retd) G D Bakshi SM, VSM is the quintessential Scholar-Warrior. He is one of the most combat experienced officers of the Indian Army. He taught at the IMA Dehradun, Staff College Wellington, and the prestigious National Defence College at New Delhi. A PhD in Strategic Studies, he has authored 26 books and over 150 papers. A member of many prestigious think tanks, he appears regularly on national TV debates.

P D T Achary is a former Secretary General of Lok Sabha. He spent forty years in the service of parliament. Shri Achary is considered as a constitutional and parliamentary expert. He has contributed greatly towards the strengthing of the instrumentalities of parliament.

Amb Ranjit Singh Kalha has held the important posts of Joint Secretary (Americas) and (East Asia) dealing with China and Japan. He has served as India’s Ambassador to Indonesia (1988-92) and Iraq (1992-94); Additional Secretary (Administration) (1995-98) and Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs from 1998-2002.He is a well known writer on Chinese affairs as well as on politics of oil.

Prof. Dennis Rumley is currently Professor of Indian Ocean Studies, Distinguished Research Fellow, Curtin University, Western Australia. He was formerly Australia's focal point to the Indian Ocean Rim Academic Group (IORAG). He was appointed as Vice-Chair of the IORAG at the IORA meeting, Bangalore, in November 2011 for a period of two years.

Dr Bharat Karnad is a research Professor in national security studies at the centre for policy research, New Delhi. He was a member of the National security Advisory Board, National Security Council, Government of India.

Wilson John is a vice president with the Observer Research Foundation. His areas of research include Pakistan, India's neighbourhood policy and terrorism. His articles are regularly published both in India and abroad.

Dr Vijay Sakuja is Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of South East Asian Studies (ISEAS), Singapore. He was Director (Research), Indian Council of World Affairs, a leading think-tank in New Delhi. Currently, he is Director, Naval Maritime Foundation.

Prof. Srikanth Kondapalli is Professor in Chinese Studies and Chairman of Centre for East Asian Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He is educated in the China programme in India and China with M.Phil, Ph.D. and post-Doctoral research. He taught in the China programme in India, China and Taiwan. He had published two books, two monographs, a co-edited volume and a numbers of articles-all on China.

Col Harjeet Singh took early retirement from the Army in 1998 after a tenure as Instructor at the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington (India). A prolific military writer and thinker, he is a regular contributor to several professional journals. He is well known in military circles for his erudition and perspicacity of analysis. He holds a Master's degree in Defence Science and an M Phil in Strategic Studies from the University of Madras.

Dr. O. C. Handa is a well-known connoisseur of art and culture, especially of the Himalayan region. Having been in the field now for more than half a century, he is an outstanding scholar of history and archaeology of the Himalayan region. He has been undertaking expeditions, many solo ones, to the remotest corners of Himalayan interiors. He remained in-charge of Museum & archaeology in Himachal Pradesh for several years.
