What is an OIC?• Reverend Dr. Leon Sullivan founded first
Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) in abandoned jailhouse in Philadelphia in 1964
• Purpose: offer job and life skills training to the undereducated and disadvantaged and provide skilled workers to Philadelphia businesses
• Model was soon adopted across the country and around the world
• Carlisle joined the movement in 1967
