1.0 WORK DESCRIPTION The Work shall include all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, services, and incidentals and performing all work necessary to provide the Owner with sand for the Aucilla Area Solid Waste facility MSW landfill expansion as described below. The Project site is located east of SR 221, one mile southeast of Greenville in Madison County, Florida. Work is described as the procurement, testing, and delivery of sand to the Project site. Up to 52,000 cubic yards of sand will be required to be furnished and delivered to the site. The sand must meet a hydraulic conductivity of 1x10-3 cm/s or greater and other specified requirements. Contractor shall provide 3 – 5-gallon buckets of sand per borrow source for permeability, standard proctor, and grain sieve size testing for initial approval. All work shall be in accordance with the contract documents. The sand shall be delivered for eight (8) weeks at the schedule and pace set forth by the Owner. 2.0 RECEIPT OF BIDS Sealed Bids for the provision of sand for the Class I landfill Cell 4 Expansion will be received by John McHugh at the Aucilla office until 2:00 p.m., (Eastern Standard Time - Daylight Saving Time) August 19, 2020, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. The Aucilla intends to award the Contract or reject all Bids within 30 days after the date of the opening of the bids. No bidder may withdraw its bid after the date of the opening bids, as may be applicable, or as may be made by the mutual written consent of Aucilla and the lowest responsible bidder. Contract Documents may be examined at the office of the Engineer. Contact Frank Darabi at (352) 376-6533 to obtain copies of the Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of the Engineer for $75 per set, which constitutes the cost for reproduction and handling. Payment is non-refundable.
