• VIT also serves as a regulatory authority for the
teaching profession in Catholic Schools
• Teachers wanting to teach in any Victorian Catholic
school must first be registered with the VIT.

As nearly all teachers in Catholic Primary Schools are required to have Accreditation to Teach Religious Education – parts of your course at ACU may fulfil requirements for study.

What do I do?
Accreditation Steps
1. Finish your course!
2. Seek VIT registration, usually as a Provisionally Registered
Teacher (PRT)
3. Complete application Form “B” (from CEOM website)
4. Include copy of ACU transcript, listing all units attained
5. Copy of VIT registration (card)
NOTE: You can apply for teaching positions before gaining VIT
registration and Accreditation to Teach Religious Education in a
Catholic School as above
