UnitedHealthcare Multi-Choice

Like a private exchange from one carrier*

UnitedHealthcare Multi-Choice allows small business employers to offer a product that functions like a private exchange, except from ONE carrier and without subsidies like a public exchange. This approach delivers multiple health care benefit choices for your employees’ diverse health care coverage wants and needs.

Plans are bundled in packages; the employer selects one, two or multiple benefit designs to offer employees and chooses a set contribution amount.

Employees then choose one of the available benefit designs:

• Employees can buy up within the offering from the contribution amount

• Available benefit designs that are not elected by any employees will remain available for new hires

• At renewal, the entire package renews; giving the employer the opportunity to contribute at the same level, a different level or offer the same plans or other plans to meet current business and employee needs
