Summary – second year: • Focused on «Nutrients»• Data Aggregation/Conversion/Homogenization by Regional Leaders • Available Data converted for Maps generation in unit of «umol/l»• Maps will be generated for available Nutrients:

• PO4 in umol/l• Total Phosphorus in umol/l• NOx (NO3, NO2+NO3) in umol/l• NO3 in umol/l• Total Nitrogen in umol/l• NH4 in umol/l• SiO4 in umol/l

• Maps will be generated in the 5 EMODNet Regions, per season and all vertical layers

WP2 Data Products generation - DIVA horizontal maps

Summary – third year: • Move to Chlorophyll-a, Oxygen, Organic matter, pH, Alkalinity

• … data Aggregation/Conversion/Homogenization by Regional Leaders

• Available Data converted for Maps generation in• unit of «ug/l» for Chlorophyll-a• unit of «umol/l» for Oxygen, Organic matter, Alkalinity

• Evaluate if maps can be generated, according to data distribution,

• Maps will be generated in the 5 EMODNet Regions, per season and all vertical layers.

WP2 Data Products generation - DIVA horizontal maps

WP2 Data Products generation – Dynamic Time Series

Parameters: NO3, NOx, Total Nitrogen, PO4, Total Phosphorus, SiO4, NH4+ Alkalinity, pH, Dissolved Oxygen and

Chlorophyll-aTime period: defined by the user (default is 2000-2001)Vertical layers: defined by the user (default is 0-10m)

Selecting a parameter you get dynamically (WFS, WPS OGC services):• Spatial distributions• Time series plots• Vertical profiles

WP2 Data Products generation – Spatial distribution

WP2 Data Products generation – Dynamic Time Series

WP3 QA/QC - Validation - MSFD interaction

WP5 Analyses and Recommendations

• ISPRA and OGS will give specific presentations on the surveys circulated• ICES will present the interaction with MSFD stakeholders and the Commission

working groups (WG-DIKE and WG-GES)

• Two EMODnet-MSFD Coordination Meeting took place in Bruxelles to better coordinate EMODnet activities with MSFD requirements. Requirements on products, metadata and QA/QC procedures.

• One meeting with UNEP-MAP to find synergies and integration. EMODnet Chemistry may provide maximum impact on MSFD reporting on the Mediterranean and Black Sea

• Start promotion of 2nd Expert WS, Oostende, 21st October 2015

• EMODnet Chemistry will support access to data and data products used for MSFD assessments and monitoring
