1. eModal Appointment System

Upon logging into eModal, you should see a screen similar to the example below. Not all objects are available to all users. What you will or

won’t see are based on user permissions and function. Note the user name on the top right corner will display who is currently logged on.

Click on the “Menu” bar on the top left corner and it will bring up a menu drop down, where you will then select the “APPOINTMENTS-2”

option.

In the Appointments module, you will then see a screen similar to the one below. The My Appointments panel will list as default, all of your

appointments for today or greater, across all terminals you have appointments for. You can perform single ascending/descending sorts of

columns by clicking on the column title. For advanced/multiple searches, you can click on the Advanced-Search icon.

1.1 Filtering Advanced-Search icon will bring you to a popup screen below for Filter Criteria. You can select or deselect any criteria to search for.

Allowable search commands (not all options available for all criteria) :

Equal – single selection or input of value

In – multiple selection or input of values (for input, separate by a comma “,” with no spaces between values)

NotIn – exclude the selected values

Contains – search for entries that have part of inputted value (example: Container contains EISU, will return all containers that have EISU in the

value)

GreaterThan – greater than, not including, the inputted value

GreaterThanOrEqual – greater than, and including, the inputted value

LessThan – less than, not including, the inputted value

LessThanOrEqual – less than, and including, the inputted value

Between – between values inputted, inclusive of values inputted

StartsWith – search for values that start with inputted value

EndsWith – search for values that end with inputted value

To clear filters and return to default, click on Clear-Search

1.2 Sorting You can sort the view in My Appointments by ascending/descending order by clicking on the column title header. If you want to perform a multi

header sort, click on Sorting icon

Sort Order pop up screen below will appear and you can +Add filter fields for Ticket, Container, Date, ISO, Status, or TOS Status. After selection

of field(s), you will select “Asc”ending or “Desc”ending order

1.3 Exporting of View or Selection and Page Navigation User can select to Export to Excel the Page or All. Page will export the current page view, so if you have Items Per Page set to 15 and you are

viewing page 3, then it will export the 15 (or less) entries of page 3.

All exports all entries that are returned from the current filter, not just what is displayed on the screen.

You can choose to have 15, 25, 50, or 100 entries per page to display by choosing the respective values on the Items Per Page drop down.

You can navigate back a page by clicking the < icon, or forward by clicking the > icon. You can also jump to a page by inputting the exact page

number in Page field.

2. How to Create an Appointment: V2.0 is visit and pattern driven. To create a new visit, click on the + Add-Visit icon on the top left of the My Appointments panel

A pop up of the visit input screen will appear. Depending on terminal selected, different columns or move patterns available will appear, or not,

based on terminal requirements.

a. Select the terminal you are making an appointment for, and depending on terminal settings, the availability of pattern could change

from allowing inbound and outbound movements, or just unidirectional moves.

b. Select None, Single, or Twin container move type for your Drop-Off and Pick-Up. As you select them, the allowable lines of input beneath

will increase or decrease depending on selection

c. Select the direction type that you are performing (IMPORT, EXPORT, EMPTY, or DRAY)

d. Fields that do not require input for specific move type will be greyed out, while fields that may require mandatory inputs will be open.

As you input information, the status icon will change. Once you’ve inputted all validated information, the icon will turn to a green check

to indicate that information provide is sufficient. At any point of input, you can check for container status by clicking on the icon

in the container column when it becomes visible.

After all information is inputted, if there is not a green check, but a red triangle warning still, then clicking on the icon will inform for the

error

Once all moves are inputted with valid containers, you should get green check marks for all

Input a valid Truck No. and then you’ll be able to select the next available time slots

Once all values have been inputted and you don’t have any red warnings on your appointments, you will click on Save or Save-Close to submit

your appointment either for approval, or confirmation, depending on terminal set up. Save will submit the appointment and return you to the

previous appointment pattern to create another appointment. Save-Close will submit your appointment and will take you back to the My

Appointment screen. Cancel will close the Add/Edit Visit popup without submitting the appointment details.

Required Information

Appointment Type Required Value

Import Container number (Line, ISO, SzTpHt will auto populate based on received data)

Export Container number, Booking Number. Line, ISO, SzTpHt will auto populate if only one ISO, otherwise will be a selection

Empty Pick Up Release order (aka Empty Delivery Order), and ISO if more than one type on order

Empty Drop Off Enter the number of appointments you would like to create or enter or upload the container number(s)

Dray Drop Off Container number

Dray Pick Up Container number

3. How to Cancel an Appointment: Cancelling an appointment can be performed either in the My Appointments page, or in edit mode of the individual appointment.

From My Appointment screen, click trash can icon, this will cancel the appointment, after confirmation on following popup panel. If the trash is

light gray you may not cancel the appointment

To cancel in Edit mode, you must click on the edit icon in My Appointments, if available.

It will bring you to the Add/Edit Visit popup, where you will click on the trash can at the visit level, and upon confirmation, cancel the

appointment

4. What do the icons mean?

Advanced-Search : enter the My Appointments filtering criteria page

Clear-Search: clear all filters applied to current view

Refresh: refresh the page view (does not clear filter)

Sorting: multi sort the column views in My Appointments

Add-Visit: enter the panel to add a new visit

: appointment can be cancelled

: appointment cannot be cancelled

: appointment has warnings

: appointment has errors
