Emmanuel Prayer Journal Pray for the following needs: —Hugh and Katharine McIntosh as Hughs mother, Nan McIntosh, passed away. She was 96, and lived in Edmonton in long term care. —Eunice Muir has gone home to be with the Lord. A service will be held later in the spring, with details to follow. —Joan Bell, who moved to Nova Scoa in 2017, went home to be with the Lord. Be in prayer for her family. —Rebecca Terrell, recovering aſter surgery to remove a kidney. —Andrew and Lisa Dollins house was destroyed by fire and smoke on Christmas evening. Pray for the Dollins as they go forward as a family. Praise the Lord with them as they all escaped safely from the fire. —Gail Shotlander, having 12 weeks of chemo treatments. —Owen McFadden, son of Will & Laura, connued prayer that medicaon will be effecve in controlling seizures. —Ralph McDonell, for health concerns as he receives chemotherapy treatments. —Rose Prince, our missionary to Spain, for strength, courage, and wisdom as she connues with cancer treatment in Spain. —for connued response to the Gospel in the hearts of those who aended our Christmas outreaches. —for the winter sessions (either starng or resuming) of our various ministries here at Emmanuel, that our church family would grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. —for the many areas of conflict and crisis in the world. Pray that many would turn to the Lord in difficult mes. Mr. and Mrs. K divide their me between Canada and Lebanon, supporng Arabic-speaking church plants in both countries. They are currently discipling and training our Syrian refugee family to plant a church among Syrian refugees in Lebanon. - Praise God for open doors of ministry on the naonal and internaonal level - Praise the Lord for new believers who are Syrian and Iraqi refugees with Chrisan and Islamic backgrounds. - Please pray for CLC (Syrian refugee elementary school). Pray that the children will respond to the Gospel. And pray that God will provide the financial resources needed to connue running this program. The budget is short by 40% (CAD 55 000) - Please pray for the church planng movement and the church planters both in Canada and Lebanon. - Pray for the leadership team leading the vision in Lebanon - Please pray for the Fair (Fellowship Aid and Internaonal Relief), project "Hope for Tomorrow." This school has a high number of kids and families in need. We sponsored 84 kids from the school through our Christmas Giſt Sponsorship Program and we received a benevolent offering of $513 on Christmas Eve to help kids and families in need at Lion's Oval. Please pray for the relaonship we are developing with the staff, students and families of this school. Multi-Site Prayer Focus —Pray for Tahlia Knight, who is connected with both Emmanuel Barrie and Orillia sites. Tahlia is planning to leave for Poland in June to work with Fellowship International, discipling university students. Pray that God would raise up people to partner with Tahlia, both in prayer and financially, as she prepares for her future ministry in Poland.

Offering Envelopes in Atrium—Please pick up your 2018 offering envelopes in the Atrium. On these new envelopes you will notice that your number may have changed, and it will be important that you do not use your old 2017 envelopes.

Jr High Snow Tubing—January 24 at Snow Valley, 6-8:30 pm. Register online at emmanuelbarrie.org/events. Cost is $15.

Safe Church Training—January 25 at 6-9 pm—This is for all volunteers (age 12+) who serve with anyone under the age of 16. This mandatory, once-in-a-lifetime event (you only ever need to attend one training) will equip and encourage you. All are welcome, even if you are not currently involved in Children’s or Youth Ministry. There is no cost, but please register to attend at the Welcome Desk or emmanuelbarrie.org/events.

Night to Shine—February 9. Emmanuel Barrie is an official host church for the 2018 Night to Shine (Feb 9) sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience centred on God’s love for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. Volunteers are needed—kitchen, set up, greeting, etc.— and skilled volunteers such as aestheticians, limo drivers, florists and artists are needed, as are corporate sponsors.
