Fabric C Cut seven strips 2-1/2“ x WOF sub cut each strip into six 2-1/2” x 6-1/2“ rectangles (40 needed)
Fabric D Cut seven strips 2-1/2“ x WOF sub cut each strip into six 2-1/2” x 6-1/2“ rectangles (40 needed)
Fabric E Cut three strips 2-1/2“ x WOF sub cut strips into forty 2-1/2” squares
Fabric F Cut three strips 2-1/2“ x WOF sub cut strips into forty 2-1/2” squares
Fabric G Cut three strips 2-1/2“ x WOF sub cut strips into forty 2-1/2” squares

Fabric I Cut eleven strips 2“ x WOF sub cut each strip into 2” x 12-1/2“ strips, (31 needed) set aside for sashing
Fabric J Cut one strip 2“ x WOF sub cut strip into twelve 2” squares, set aside for cornerstones
Fabric K Cut one strip 5-1/2“ x WOF sub cut four 5-1/2” squaresCut seven strips 2-1/2“ x WOF, set aside for binding
Fabric L Cut six strips 5-1/2” x WOF, set aside for outer border
Cutting Instructions

Step 1 Place a Fabric E square it in the lower right corner of a Fabric A rectangle. Sew from one corner of the square to the other (see solid line on the diagram) press towards fabric E and trim away the excess. Repeat with the 39 remaining Fabric A rectangles for a total of 40 blocks that look like the diagram in the lower right. Label blocks as A1 and set aside.
Assembling the Blocks
Step 2 Repeat Step 1 using Fabric F squares and Fabric B rectangles. Label Blocks as B1, set aside.
Step 3 Sew a Fabric G square to a fabric C Strip, following the line on the diagram to the right. Press towards Fabric G. Trim away excess. Make a total of 20 blocks. Label as A2 and set aside. Repeat using Fabric H squares and remaining Fabric C strips. Make a total of 20 blocks. Label as A3, set aside.

Step 4 Repeat Step 3 using twenty Fabric D strips and Fabric G squares. Label as B2, set aside. Repeat using the remaining Fabric D strips and Fabric H squares. Label as B3, set aside.

Step 5 Sew an A2 unit to the bottom of an A1 unit as shown. Press towards Unit A1. Repeat for all A2 units. Label as A4, set aside. Repeat with A3 and remaining A1 units. Label as A5, set aside.

Step 6 Sew a B2 unit to the bottom of a B1 unit as shown. Press towards Unit B1. Repeat for all B2 units. Label as B4, set aside. Repeat with B3 and remaining B1 units. Label as B5, set aside.

Step 7 Sew an A4 unit to an A5 unit that is turned 90°. Press towards A5 unit. Repeat for all A4 and A5 units.
Step 8 Sew together two blocks created in the Step 7 to create the block shown on the following page. Label as Block A. Square up block to 12-1/2“ square.

Step 9 Repeat steps 7 & 8 using B4 and B5 units (see fi nished block below). Label fi nished blocks as Block B. Square up block to 12-1/2“ square.
Step 10 Gather four sashing strips and three Fabric J cornerstone squares. Sew together, alternating strips and cornerstones to form a row sashing strip.Press away from cornerstones. Repeat for a total of four row sashing strips.
Step 13 Sew three Fabric L border strips together, end-to-end, and cut them into one piece 5-1/2” x 66-1/2” and one piece 5-1/2” x 53”. Repeat with remaining three strips.
Step 14 Sew two 5-1/2“ Fabric K squares to either side of the 5-1/2” x 53” strips. Press towards Fabric K.
Sashing the Quilt
Adding the Borders
Step 11 Arrange the A and B Blocks in fi ve rows of four blocks each, alternating and arranging to match the Quilt Assembly Diagram. Sew a 2” x 12-1/2” Fabric I sashing strip to between each block. Press toward the sashing.
Make two rows. Label as Row B.
Step 12 Sew the rows together, alternating with the row sashing strips and following the Quilt Assembly Diagram.
Step 15 Sew the 66-1/2“ long strips to the left and right sides of the quilt top.
Step 16 Sew the border strips created in Step 14 to the top and bottom of the quilt top.
Your quilt top is now complete. Baste, quilt, bind and enjoy!
Make three rows. Label as Row A.
