I was responsible for the upkeep of existing client relations as well as discovering new contacts and potential clients. This was done both over the phone and in person. This role also required me to maintain the organisation of files, contracts, invoices (temporarily) and creative portfolios and greet and tend to any clients and/or visitors to the office. I also aided creatively in the organisation of events within the company.

09/12 HCC International Insurance Company Work Experience I learnt about the varying phases in Assurance and Underwriting and

shadowed the contact between employees and clients. I visited the Lloyd’s Financial Building in the heart of London, in order to learn about

the upkeep of business relations in a fast-paced environment and seek out new opportunities.

09/12-04/13 „The Mancunion“ Student NewspaperWriterI wrote articles over a range of topics for this newspaper on a weekly basis, which were published both online and in print, and successfully produced these articles to strict deadlines, organised relevant interviews and learnt to manage my time and priorities in this fast-paced job. I also was a regular Representative at numerous networking opportunities and events covered by the newspaper.

Through the completion of exams and academic essays my writing skills also increased to a fluent level.

VOLUNTARY WORK

I was a member of the Debating Society at my school and attended weekly meetings and debates on a range of topics.

Freelance tutor in English and German language (in England and Germany).

University of Manchester Gold Mentoring Scheme (Mentor: Vice President of International Distribution and Chain Supply Management, Xerox).

I was the Toastmaster at a German wedding. I was responsible for the translation of communications between the guests from both families (English, German and some Norwegian) as well as between the personel at both the wedding and reception locations. I also had a big responsibility in the organisation of the wedding in the preceding months and on the day.

I am an avid follower of the interpreters' campaign against the reduction in quality standards and T&Cs in the CJS, caused by the MoJ, outsourcing of language services to Applied Language Service
