Bill Reid Here are two of his paintings called Dogfish and Jade Canoe. The Dogfish was made in 1973 and some of its elements are lines, colour and shape. For this painting he used paint and paper. The main idea of this painting is the dogfish itself. The painting makes me feel happy because it is so pretty and the colours go well together. His next painting is called the Jade Canoe. It is right now placed in the YVR airport and it was made in 1988.The elements of art are colour, lines, form, shape, texture and space. To make this he used jade paint and clay to sculpt it. It is supposed to represent a group of animals traveling in a canoe. If you look closely you can see far more creatures then you first thought. This painting feels mysterious like it is full of treasures.

Ted Harrison Ted Harrisons painting ‘The Whales of Monterey School’ was made in the 1970’s. It uses colour, lines, form, space and shape. He used canvas and paints to make this painting. The subject of this painting is the whales swimming in the Yukon because it is the biggest part of the painting. This painting makes me feel sad because of the blues and purples. His next painting is called ‘Lakeside Ravens’, also made in the 1970’s. It has colour, lines, form, space and shape. He used canvas as his paper and paint for the picture. The subject is the people watching the ravens going into flight. This makes me feel happy and calm because nothing seems to be sad or troubled.

The Mountains Watch the City Rise: was made in 2013. It has lines, colour, form, shape, value and space. He used paints to make the picture. The picture is about morning and how the mountains of Vancouver watch the city and all the people awake. This painting makes me feel hopeful because it makes you think the mountains watch over us.

Over the Islands: was made in 2012. It has lines, colour, form, shape, value and space. He, like the last one, used paints. The painting is supposed to be about the many islands between Vancouver and Vancouver island. This painting makes me feel nice because it’s a bright sunny day with calm and peaceful waters.
