Located in the South Haymarket, at fi ve stories tall, a proposed relationship between
an existing bus depot and intergenerational housing has
been proposed.
Families have the opportunity to live their lives together in an island-like neighborhood
with parks, patios, and public transportation to take them
anywhere else they need to go.

NestCase03
03
The NestCase was developed during the Product Design class
at UNL. This bookshelf nests together to ease the pain of
transporting bookcases during moves. When the bookcase is
nested, it stands 4 feet 6 inches tall and 1 foot 7 inches wide.
When the bookcase is unfolded, the pieces reveal
places to store books, pictures, or decorative items. The
bookcase can be arranged so the shelves can turn a corner or
snake to divide spaces.

BIM Analysis05
05
Revit contains generic massing families that can be used to
help create parametric models.
The benefi t of using parametric modeling can be seen when
designs change. When a client or architect choses to change
a dimension, the rest of the model will change with it.
Drawings can be updated at the time of the design change.

Midwestern Myths06
06
Using fairy tales that Dexter Hansen and I have written, we investigated architecture and
its relationship to boundaries. The story and architecture use
metaphor and hints of reality to communicate to the user.

Midwestern Myths06

(Left) “Watching corn grow” sounds like a boring statement,
but in the town of Palisade (meaning “fence”) taking down boundaries has allowed corn to
grow at an exciting rate.
(Right) Because the town of Palisade built upon their
boundaries, they were able to build a church that was closer
to God.

Lange House in Durango07
07
While working with Pam Gordon, she mentioned
her interest in having plans developed for the new house concept she and Brian Lange
designed to be located in Durango, Colorado. My
involvement included line drawings of the site, fl oor
plans, structural details, and elevations. These drawings
helped them to acquire a permit and the house will be
completed in June 2016.

Leisure Limousine Logo08

Lori Hiebner contacted me and asked for my assistance in
designing a logo for a company called Leisure Limousine and
Sedan, a company that offers a wide range of transport options
in the Lincoln and Omaha areas.
This logo is now featured on their website and their ad
photos.

UNL Colonial Room Renovation
09
09
Working with Cory Ostrander, the Colonial Room located in the Nebraska Union, was
transformed to include updated fi nishes. The Colonial
Room is used for a variety of meetings on campus.
This room can be split into two different conference rooms by
a mechanical wall. The room required asbestos abatement,
fl oor leveling and exits that would meet code requirements.

As my fi rst UNL project, and with guidance Cory Ostrander,
Manter Hall room 204 was renovated from a biochemistry
lab to a graduate offi ce suite. The lab required demolition
of cabinetry and fume hoods. The renovation include new fl ooring, a window into the
hallway, a new door, light kits for the existing doors, a ceiling grid and ceiling tiles, and new
furniture.
