To highlight the newer and existing security

challenges that Nepal is facing and the

possible suggestion that can help to reduce

the problems

Security has it's different perspective and it's a right of any

individual to be secured. A country secured from outside

threats should also protect its citizens from inside threats to

ensure public security, which has broaden the meaning of

security.

Nepal has gone through several securities issues since the

rise of extremist armed group and lack of rules of laws.

Nepal should have properly drafted constitution which has

failed to ensure security to public.

Newer security threats :-

Ethnic and religious conflict

Terrorism

Migration

Environmental degradation

Communicable diseases

Democracy

Human rights violation

Gender crime

Poverty hunger and deprivation

Increasing pollution and decreasing public health and weak

infrastructure and technology to fight against various fatal

diseases.

Not only territorial integrity and political independence but also

citizens freedom, economic independence ,social stability and

cultural identity should be protected and hence multi-lateral

approach is needed to dealt with the emerging threats and

challenges.

Also :-

Weak diplomatic policy

Haphazard urbanization

Political instability

Erosion of rules of laws

Aid dependency culture

Poor infrastructure

Hence political stability ,strong rules of laws is vital, also

continuity and confidence in foreign policy is necessary

Nepal security council has been established as an apex

institution for democratic control of national armed forces,

yet it is perceived to be in active.

To strengthen this problem:-

Re-structuring of National security council

Reforms of Ministry of defense

Amend the provision of Military Act 2006

Reform military court and military organization more

inclusive
