wait four seconds). In some areas, 72# must be used to activate CallForwarding

How it Helps YouBy identifying an incoming caller while you’re already on the phone, youcan decide whether or not to interrupt the first call in order to take theincoming call.

How It WorksWhen you’re on the phone and someone else calls, you’ll first hear the CallWaiting tone, followed by a high-pitched tone. Your compatible EMBARQCaller ID unit or screenphone displays the name and number (in certaincases, number only) of your incoming call.

To end one conversation:A Simply hang up. Your phone will ring, and you’ll still be connected to

Helpful HintsA When you hear a Call Waiting tone, the caller hears a normal ringA If a third call comes in while you’re using Call Waiting, that caller will

hear a busy signalA Many phones have a "flash" or "link" button which can be used in

place of the receiver button to alternate between calls or answer a CallWaiting call

A When using a dial-up Internet service for your computer, it isrecommended that you deactivate Call Waiting in order to avoiddisconnection from the Internet. To cancel Call Waiting through acomputer, the dial string must begin with *70 and a comma followedby the rest of the number. The comma will make the modem pausefor the second dial tone before dialing the number. Call Waiting willautomatically be restored when you end your online connection

Three-Way Calling_____________________________________________________

How it Helps YouPlans and decisions are easier to make when three people can speaktogether. Three-Way Calling adds convenience to your life by reducingand eliminating multiple calls.

How it WorksA Place the first person on hold by pressing the receiver button for one

button briefly again. All three of you will be connectedA When either of the people you called hangs up, you will remain

A Please allow up to 7 business days for your long distance provider tochange to EMBARQ and for your new calling plan to take effect. Yourcurrent provider’s rates will apply during the interim. If EMBARQ isalready your long distance provider, allow up to 5 business days foryour new calling plan to be activated.

EMBARQ Voicemail____________________________________________________

EMBARQ™ Voicemail takes a message when you’re unavailable, on thephone, online and even if the power goes out. The information belowdetails how to set up your messaging service and retrieve messages.

Set up your mailbox (for increased security you must set up yourmailbox from your home phone before you can access it remotely)

From home:Dial 1-877-VMESSAGE (1-877-863-7724) or } B B from home1. Follow the voice prompts to complete the easy set-up process

a. Set up your 4 to 10 digit PIN (Personal IdentificationNumber)

b. Name the Mailboxc. Personalize your Greeting

Listen to your messages

If you hear a "stutter" dial tone when you lift your handset, you have newmessages waiting. If you have special message waiting equipment, you willalso see a message waiting indicator or light.

1. Access your mailbox

A From home: Dial 1-877-VMESSAGE (1-877-863-7724) or

} B B from home and enter your PIN.

-OR-

A From any other phone: Dial your home phone number andlet it forward to voicemail then press { during yourgreeting and enter your PIN, or, dial 1-877-VMESSAGE(1-877-863-7724) and enter your 10-digit home phone numberfollowed by } and enter your PIN.

2. Play your Messages

A Press Z to play the first message

A Press M M to rewind 5 secondsA Press < < to fast forward 5 secondsA Press } to pause, then press } to resume playingA Press X to keep (save) or press C to delete

After listening to a message, you can also:

A Press Z to play the message againA Press X to keep (save) the current messageA Press C to delete the current messageA Press V to give it (forward) to another user in your local

areaA Press B to answer it (reply). The voice prompts will guide

youA Press N to make (create) a new message and send it to

another mailbox userA Press > to exit your voicemail when you are done listening

to messages

Change your greeting, name or PIN

A You may change your mailbox greeting or name at any time bypressing N at the main menu.

A You may change your PIN at anytime by pressing C at the mainmenu for User Options and then by pressing X for PIN.

Managing your EMBARQ™ Voicemail online

With online access to your EMBARQ™ Voicemail at embarq.com, you can:

A Record your name and greetings, change your PIN and modify yourmessage waiting notification settings

A Listen to, reply to, view, save, delete, and send your messages.

After you’ve initialized your mailbox from your home phone, you canmanage your voicemail online, by following the below steps (you must bea registered user - it only takes a couple of minutes if you’re not alreadyregistered):

A Go to embarq.com and log into your EMBARQ™ accountA Click on "My Services"A Click on "View Voice Services"A Select "Manage Your Voicemail"

There is no additional charge to access and manage your EMBARQ™Voicemail online. Additional information for managing your voicemailcan be found online under the Help Center tab.

Things to Remember

A Remember to press > to exit your mailbox before you hang up.If you hang up before pressing > your line will remain connectedto your mailbox for up to 45 seconds, and you could accidentallyreset your PIN if you pick up the phone again and dial anothernumber within those 45 seconds.

A Your phone must be set for TONE dialing, not PULSE dialing towork with your Mailbox.

A Your EMBARQ™ Voicemail can store up to 6 Megabytes ofmessages, which is around 10 minutes of voice messages. (Up to 10Megabytes which is around 15 minutes of messages for subscribersof EMBARQ™ One Voicemail and EMBARQ™ Voicemail withEnhanced Features).

A If your mailbox is full (having over 6MB of messages), instead ofyour greeting, callers hear “Mailbox for (mailbox name) Sorry. Themailbox is full and there is not enough space to leave a message.”The system will hang up on the caller. If this happens, press thestar { key during this greeting in order to access your messages.

A If you are ever unsure what to do next, wait a few seconds, and thevoice prompts will guide you with available options or press ?for helpful hints.

EMBARQ VOICEMAIL SERVICE TERMS AND CONDITIONSThe terms and conditions set forth herein constitute an agreement between youand EMBARQ for the provision of voicemail service. Your activation or

continued use of your voicemail service will be your acknowledgement that youagree to the provisions summarized herein.

Please read these terms and conditions carefully and keep for your records.1. EMBARQ will furnish and provide voicemail service to you as a

standalone service on a month-to-month basis, or as part of a bundle ofservices, whichever is applicable to you.

2. You agree to pay EMBARQ a monthly charge for voicemail service,which will be billed separately on your local monthly bill or will beincluded in the price of your bundled services.

3. Charges for voicemail service are based on recurring monthly rate, notusage.

4. EMBARQ may modify the charges for the month-to-month agreementbased on thirty (30) days written notice to you. You may be notifiedeither by letter or monthly bill. EMBARQ reserves the right to modifythe terms of this Agreement at any time. If you do not agree with themodified changes or terms of the Agreement, as modified, you mayimmediately terminate the service.

5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: EMBARQ’s liability for any negligence,error, mistake, or omission affecting the operation of voicemail service islimited to a pro rate refund of charge paid by you for voicemail serviceduring the period of time your service was affected. You must requestany refund. EMBARQ is not responsible for the content of messages, formessages lost due to equipment failure or your error, or for unauthorizedaccess to your voicemail mailbox due to your failure to use a passcode orto adequately protect the confidentiality of your passcode. EMBARQWILL IN NO EVENT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, ORCONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR CONNECTED TOTHE PROVISION OF VOICEMAIL SERVICE AND CAUSED BYNEGLIGENCE, ERROR, MISTAKE, OR OMISSION ON THE PART OFEMBARQ OR ITS EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS.

6. EMBARQ is not responsible for any delay or failure in performance ofany part of the Agreement to the extent that such delay or failure iscaused by fire, flood, explosion, war, strike, embargo, governmentrequirement regulatory agency requirement, civil or military authority,act of God, or other similar causes beyond EMBARQ’s control(“condition”). If any such condition occurs, EMBARQ may elect toterminate this Agreement.

7. These terms and conditions do not apply to you if you have entered aseparate contract for voicemail service for a specified time period or tothe extent such contract contains separate terms and conditions.

8. Nonpayment of the voicemail service charges by you shall not be causefor denial or termination of exchange telephone service.

9. Voicemail service is for your use only and may not be assigned.10. Any telephone numbers assigned directly as a mailbox number remain

the property of EMBARQ and are not available for number portability.
