Give your career a boost without leaving home.
The Simon Executive MBA provides the education
you want without putting the rest of your life on
hold. Our program incorporates the same
curriculum, resources, and faculty as our full-time
MBA without delaying your career. You’ll develop
the tools to become a more dynamic and
innovative leader, studying management and
cultivating the analytical thinking that has made
Simon Business School number one for return on
investment.
A program for professionals, by professionals.
When your classmates are as driven as you are and your professors are
experts who have shaped their industries, you can be sure that
everyone’s goal is success. Learning from peers becomes as common-
place as learning from faculty, and the connections you create with them
both will reach well beyond the classroom. The challenges will never
stop coming, but after graduating you’ll never face them unprepared.
Intensive work that gives immediate rewards.
Bi-weekly classes allow you to continue working; more importantly,
everything you learn can be applied immediately to your current career
responsibilities. As you gain a broader knowledge of current trends,
develop global awareness and problem solving techniques, you become
a more valuable asset to your colleagues and to your company.
Our MBA curriculum worksto strengthen your potential.
As one of the first business schools in
the country to develop an Executive MBA
program, we are very confident in what
we offer you.
Our lockstep course lineup allows your
learning to build on itself in a natural
progression. This ensures that you
understand exactly how the many facets
of business are interrelated.
The Leadership Practicum.
Our new leadership course is a year-
long experiential practicum that provides
a framework for personal leadership
and expands our professional develop-
ment offerings.
The course provides a framework for
defining leadership that is founded on
the concept of integrity, and then inte-
grates this framework with your personal
leadership strengths. With modules
throughout the first year, concepts in the
core curriculum will be further exploredfrom the perspective of how to imple-
ment these concepts as the leader within
your organization.
“The Simon EMBA program
helped me make better
decisions. I became moreconfident and more open to
using different approaches.
Also, learning how to get
things done efficiently
within a team structure was
extremely important for me.”

the initiatives of the second largest

Simon Business School EMBA program
first gave him the broader view of the
world he has today. There, he learned
of the frameworks to handle tough

Your fellow students will be your allies andmotivators.
You will be in an elite class of professionals. You
will share the same goals and the same drive to
go higher and do better. You’ll be surrounded by
peers whose diverse backgrounds will add an
extra dimension to your education, just as your
own will add to theirs. The tasks you will face
together at Simon will prepare you for the
challenges you will face throughout your career.
The optimum team is one with a wide range of talent.
The groups are organized specifically to ensure varied expertise. If
you are a marketing specialist, your new teammates will become your
resources in accounting, management, and operations. People from
every industry and background work as one so that you succeed both
personally and as a group.
Quality students make for a quality experience.
Affirming that the students in the Simon Executive MBA program are the
very best is what makes the program so effective. So much is demanded
of each candidate—both in and out of the classrom—that even if onestudent isn’t fully committed, the effect will be felt by all. By accepting
only determined and accountable students, with a history of success,
we guarantee the best educational experience for everyone.
Simon EMBA students: A range of backgrounds
Simon EMBA students come from a
wide range of different-sized firms. This
brings many benefits, from networking
with other c-level managers to learning
from functional experts in different
industries. Additionally, the leaders
of new entrepreneurial ventures gain
knowledge from senior managers and
established firms. Therefore, both the
team environment and the classroom
discussions are elevated by the wealth
and diversity of experiences that the
students bring with them.

“The Simon EMBA program
gave me an economic
framework that both shapedmy business thinking and
helped me develop as a leader.
Each day, as I interact
with others to solve tough,

what I learned at Simon.”
Lance Drummond Executive MBA ’85Executive Vice President
Operations and Technology
TD Canada Trust, Toronto
With a career that has spanned three
different industries—manufacturing,
operations, and banking—Lance
maintains the Simon Business School
EMBA taught him three essential skills.
First, to quickly grasp the economic
parameters of any industry—how it
makes a profit. Second, to then identifywhere the biggest opportunities lie within
that industry. And third, the program’s
accelerated schedule taught him how
to prioritize and sort what really matters
from what does not.

Our expert faculty: your invaluable resource.
The Simon faculty is truly in a class by itself. It is an
elite group of some of the business world’s top
thinkers and researchers. Many have helped shape
their respective industries. You will be guided and
mentored by people who wrote the book on their
subjects. The discussions you will have both in and
out of the classroom will push you to look at the
world of business from a new perspective, and
then to apply the research and methods to your
own, real-world business endeavors.
Our skill and experience will drive your discovery.
Our faculty are among the top researchers in the country and regularly
incorporate their work into class curriculum. While best known for their
academic excellence, Simon Business School professors are extremely
approachable and relish the opportunity for an exchange of ideas.
They encourage students to think creatively and critically using various
methods of data analysis.
You will also learn from our research.
In addition to their own research, some of our faculty are founders and
editors of top journals, some of which are published at Simon. For
example, the Journal of Financial Economics, which is the premier
journal in financial research, was launched and is still managed at
Simon. And ground-breaking research like Professor Robert Novy-Marx’s
work on P factor underlines the excellence of scholarship at Simon.
Faculty: Range of backgrounds
Although this chart indicates a good
balance between research-based and
industry-based faculty who teach our
EMBA program, it only shows part of
the picture.
For example, a distinguished research
faculty member, Clifford W. Smith, is also
the chairman of the Board for a major
company, Home Properties.
Greg Bauer, head of research for the
Bank of Canada, a visiting professor who
taught previously at Simon, provides
both industry and academic knowledge
to his classroom. And as a result, has
won our Superior Teaching award
multiple years in a row.
David Tilson teaches one of our tool-
based courses in Statistics (Decision
Analysis), but uses his McKinsey
experience to show how these tools are
used on a daily basis for consulting and
executive decision making.
“In the Simon EMBA
program, I found something
of inestimable value: A business school rigorous
enough to seize my interest.
I was surrounded by
senior executives running
worldwide operations—but
I wasn’t there to compare
myself to others. I was
there to learn from them.”
Sarah Plasky-SachdevExecutive MBA ’99Founder and CEO
Aquavation, Rochester, NY
Walking away from your career to start a
business takes guts. Using your skills and
entrepreneurial spirit to create a product
that’s good for the earth takes vision. In
the Simon Executive MBA program, Sarah
learned how she could use her courage
and passion to create a sustainable
business model that helps others. Named
a 2013 USA Today Eco Innovator, Sarah
