Day 1 ~ Maun to Moremi Game ReserveDay 1 ~ Maun to Moremi Game Reserve
The safari departs from the Okavango Roadside Guesthouse at 0730hrs, or earlier, after
breakfast, passing through the village of Shorobe en route, heading for South Gate where we
enter the Moremi Game Reserve which is part surrounded by the Okavango Delta and cited by
many as the most beautiful game reserve in Africa and rated as Africa's premier wildlife
reserve.
The drive to South Gate normally takes two hours provided the drive has not been delayed by
game spotting on the way.
On arrival at South Gate, whilst the Professional Guide attends to the necessary paperwork
required for entry into the reserve, refreshments will be provided during this short break.
The journey continues through the Moremi Game Reserve , game spotting on the way, until our
designated camping ground is reached, about a two hour drive from South Gate.
Time to relax and stretch the legs, enjoy a leisurely lunch followed by a relaxation period during
which the professional guide will deliver a short briefing about the reserve and other
information regarding the safari, before commencing at around 1530 hrs an afternoon game
drive into areas of interest which offer excellent game viewing.
Return to camp for pre-dinner refreshments, followed by a 3-course dinner under a tented canvas
gazebo or under the southern, Milky Way star lit skies, relaxing for a while in conversation,
reflecting on the day’s activities and sightings in the warm ambiance of the campfire, listening
to the calls of the hyenas and lions before retiring for the night in cosy tents fitted with
comfortable beds.
Day 2 Day 2 Day 2 --- Moremi Game ReserveMoremi Game ReserveMoremi Game Reserve
An early morning wake up call for tea or coffee with breakfast cereals and nibbles prepares one for
the early morning game drive, leaving camp at or just before sunrise for game viewing, maybe
spotting the big cats as they follow the herds of buffalo, groups of impala and other game
which roam this island.
The main part of the morning to be spent exploring the unique areas of this part of Moremi Game
Reserve before arriving back at the camp late morning where brunch will be ready and when
ready we depart on our way through the Reserve towards South Gate where we leave Moremi
Game Reserve and head for Maun, a drive of just over two hours back to Okavango Roadside
Guest house.
The game viewing routes chosen on the day by the Professional Guide may differ from the above.
When a high flood is experienced, as is expected this year, certain roads may be closed or
impassable, but our guides will endeavor to pass through the most interesting areas offering the best
game viewing and scenic views available on the day.

DayDayDay 1 & 2: Chobe National Park 1 & 2: Chobe National Park 1 & 2: Chobe National Park
The Chobe river floodplain is undoubtedly one of the
greatest wildlife areas on the continent and one is
sometimes overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of
animals. Here we divide our time between game
drives along the river and in the forest and a boat
cruise on the Chobe River which is one of the high-
lights of the trip. We will also have some time to do
some curio shopping in the village of Kasane before
heading to our campsite in the Chobe National
Park, this a true wildlife paradise and one of the best
national parks in Southern Africa. Just one peek at
the variety of wildlife and lush vegetation and you
will be mesmerized forever! Boat cruises and game
drives along the river are very popular. The natural
environment of the park allows for excellent
photographic experiences
DayDayDay 3 & 4: Savuti 3 & 4: Savuti 3 & 4: Savuti
Depart to Savuti- we will be travelling through wilderness area for
the whole journey. This is a day that puts into perspective the sheer
size of this wilderness area. Savuti lies in an ancient lake bed that
is punctuated with small rocky-hills (kopjes), some of which hold
ancient San rock paintings. Here we explore the Savuti marsh and
river bed for the abundant wildlife of this timeless place, including
its famous elephant and lion population. Wild dog are also
regularly seen as well as a large variety of other mammals. Savuti
is a favored area of wildlife photographers and film- makers and
many well-known wildlife documentaries have been filmed here.
In this area we will be doing our evening and morning game
drives.

DayDayDay 4 & 5: Khwai4 & 5: Khwai4 & 5: Khwai
Here we will camp in a private campsite in the heart of the waterways of the Okavango Delta. Day 4
takes us on the game drive on our arrival in the evening and morning drive. The wildlife of this area
is thus spoilt for habitat: From Island to woodland, floodplain to permanent swamp. With such
diversity of habitat, time spent in this area is quite rewarding. After enjoying our early morning
breakfast and clearing our tents we start our game drive to the Eastern most extremity of the
Okavango Delta.
Day 6 & 7: Xakanaka Day 6 & 7: Xakanaka Day 6 & 7: Xakanaka --- Moremi Game ReserveMoremi Game ReserveMoremi Game Reserve
Tucked in the Western part of Moremi, Xakanaxa
and Third bridge area offer more interesting habits
for wildlife: Gigantic Mophane forest opening up to
wide open spaces of floodplains, seasonal and
permanent swamp. The Xakanaxa area is rich in
habitat and wildlife. The animals are attracted to the
narrow ribbon of water the River and this provides
for some spectacular wildlife viewing. This is an area
where lion and leopard may be seen. There is a
healthy population of plains game including Kudu,
Impala, and Zebra. Here we will spend our days do-
ing game drives and Mokoro activity and also have a
chance to relax and catch up with your diaries.
There is a great variety of birdlife along
these channels, and mammals such as
the elusive otter and majestic lechwe
may be seen. If we are lucky we may
even see an elephant cooling off in the
clear waters or catch a glimpse of the
shy sitatunga. We usually spend most
of the day out so we will pack a picnic
lunch to be enjoyed in a shady spot in
this picturesque part of Moremi. In the
evening we return to the camp
for warm shower and a hearty meal
while listening to the sounds of the
African bush at night.

DAY 8, 9 & 10 XINI DAY 8, 9 & 10 XINI DAY 8, 9 & 10 XINI
Black Pools and Xini AreaBlack Pools and Xini AreaBlack Pools and Xini Area
These areas are in the south western part of Moremi. Department of Wildlife and National Parks
of Botswana has just recently added more road infrastructure to make the Xini area more
accessible than ever before. With seasonal and permanent swamp landscape, these two areas are
home to a bounty of Buffalo herds, Elephant and good lion prides. We have frequently seen
Cheetah and African Wild dog hunting in these areas.
There are only two exclusive camping areas allowed for use only by registered tour operators in
Botswana. This makes the Xini area quite attractive compared to most areas, because of lesser
tourist activities. You can enjoy predator sightings here for hours before a passing vehicle bound
for either Xakanaxa or South gate found us. Here you will be doing the whole day game drive;
you will also have a game drive on your way out to Maun.
