June 2015 Activities - Continued

Site Security and O&M Activities - Continued • Finalized and transmitted the hydraulic (fill) testing and Phase 1 Pond management plans on

June 3 to EPA and NDEP for the Arimetco FMS. EPA directed ARC to initiate these activities on June 9. The Phase 1 Pond improvements (dike installation and modified pumping equipment) were initiated and completed on June 25. During the remaining five days in June, approximately 775 gallons were pumped from the new Phase 1 dike to FMS Evaporation Pond C.

• A wind dancer was observed to be missing on June 22, and a police report was filed. Fawcett Engineering was on Site on June 24 to complete the re-wiring of two wind dancers.

• A tour of select Arimetco FMS components was provided to Dante Rodriguez (EPA).

Site Characterization Activities • Site-wide monthly groundwater elevation measurements were obtained June 29-30 at wells

outfitted with pressure transducers and new monitor wells. • A Pit Lake water elevation of 4,234.0 feet amsl was recorded on June 30, 2015 from the pressure

transducer, an increase of 0.13 feet since May 30, 2015. The pit lake elevation has risen 1.96 feet since June 30, 2014.

• No changes to the Domestic Well Monitoring Program. • Completed the 2Q 2015 domestic well monitoring event June 9-10. • Based on the analytical results from DW-212, initially sampled in May, three locations (DW-17,

DW-138, and DW-212) were added to the Bottled Water Program in June (DW-212 has four residential trailers on Peri property with agricultural worker families residing in three trailers).

• Transmitted the 2014 Annual Groundwater Monitoring Report (GMR) on June 19. • Continued the compilation of data for inclusion in the 1Q 2015 GMR and the 1Q 2015 Domestic

Well Monitoring Report (DWMR). • Transmitted the Data Summary Report (DSR) for the Supplemental Monitor Well Installation

program to EPA on June 11 . • Initiated the start of monitor well drilling, construction, development and testing at the B/W-63 well

cluster on June 10. The zonal sampling borehole was advanced to 437 feet below ground surface and 15 zonal samples were collected.

• Continued the compilation of data for inclusion in the Background Groundwater Water Quality Assessment (BGQA - Revision 2).

• Continued preparation of the revised Geochemical Characterization DSR and geochemical modeling of groundwater quality data.

• Phase 1 a characterization around the Evaporation Ponds (OU-4a) was completed on June 6. Before leaving the Site, all borings were plugged and abandoned per State of Nevada regulations. Groundwater samples were collected from EP-GW-2 and EP-GW-7. Geotechnical testing and materials sampling activities in June were performed at EP-GT-1, EP-GT-12 and EPGT-13. Initiated the compilation of OU-4a groundwater and geotechnical for transmittal to EPA, NDEP and other project stakeholders.

• Continued work on the conceptual site model (CSM) and data quality objectives (DQOs) for the Wabuska Drain (OU-7) RI Work Plan, and the development of the first characterization phase of the Field Sampling and Analysis Plan (FSAP).

• Routine database management activities in support of Site investigations and monitoring.

Planned July/August 2015 Activities

Site Security and O&M Activities • Continue routine Site O&M, security and bird deterrent activities. • As needed, meet with EPA and NDEP to discuss any outstanding Arimetco FMS issues. • Implement the hydraulic (fill) testing plan for FMS Evaporation Ponds B and C.
