The income thresholds for EMA are changing from the 1st of January 2016. The new thresholds will be £24,421 for households with one dependent child and to £26,884 for households with more than one dependant child. Therefore if your 16th birthday was on or before 30 September 2015 and you did not apply as the household income was above the previous threshold you may now be entitled to receive EMA from 1 January 2016. These new thresholds will be used to assess all EMA applications if your 16th birthday is between 1 October 2015 and 29 February 2016.
