Match NotesLast Time Out: The Purple and Gold are coming off a two-match split at the Nazareth College Quad-Match last weekend. Elmira defeated Medaille College, 3-1, before fall-ing to Ramapo College in five sets. Erik Griffin ’16 led with 40 total kills while Carlos Faccio ’16 posted 91 assists over the day.

A Couple of the Best in the Country: Erik Griffin ’16 and Carlos Faccio ’16 both rank in the top-five in multiple statistical categories in NCAA Division III men’s volleyball. Griffin ranks third in the nation in points per set with 4.77 and fifth in kills per set with 4.20. Faccio is averaging 9.92 assists per set and 0.92 aces per set to rank fourth and fifth in the country, respectively.

Faccio on the Serve: Just past the halfway mark for the 2015 regular season, Carlos Faccio ’16 has already posted 51 total aces. He is just two aces away from tying an EC single-season record for most aces in a single season, which is owned by former standout Ryan Gelenitis ’14.

Moving on Up: Dylan Kuhn ’16 has upped his career total blocks to 201 with six total blocks last weekend. He is just five total blocks away from taking sole possession of second place on the EC career total block list. With six total blocks, Kuhn would pass former teammate Ryan Nerney ’14.

Looking Ahead: Elmira will compete next this weekend when they host the Mark Twain Cup on February 27th and 28th. The EC men will take on Stevenson University and SUNY IT on Friday before squaring off against Penn St.-Behrend and Wells College on Saturday.
