Neil Randolph ’15 and Oladapo Bad-mos ’17 paced the Purple and Gold with 23 and 19 points, respectively, but Elmira could not slow down the Golden Flyers as Nazareth shot 57.1 percent from the floor and 60.0 percent from three-point range.

Second in the Empire 8: Neil Randolph ’15 was one of the best free throw shooters in the Empire 8 Conference a sea-son ago and that has not changed in 2014-15, ranking sec-ond in the conference free throw percentage. Randolph is getting to the line more frequently over the last five games, averaging 5.8 attempts per contest, and has raised his free throw percentage to 82.9 percent on the season after shoot-ing nealry 90 percent over that span.

Success from Deep: Elmira has utilized the three-point shot to their advantage this season, ranking second in the Em-pire 8 Conference in both three-pointers made per game and three-point field goal percentage. EC averages 8.8 made three-point field goals per game and is shooting 37.2 percent from behind the arc, trailing Hartwick College and Utica College in those statistical categories, respectively.

Series History: Elmira and SUNY Cortland have met 33 times prior to this evening’s matchup, with the Red Drag-ons holding a slight advantage in the all-time series. Cort-land holds a 15-18 record over the Soaring Eagles and has won 11 of the last 13 meetings between the institutions.

Looking Ahead: EC will have over a week between games as they return to action on Tuesday, February 3rd at SUNY Fredonia. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Game NotesLast Time Out: The Red Dragons of SUNY Cortland come into tonight’s contest with an 11-3 overall record following their 70-60 victory over SUNY Geneseo Tuesday night. Cor-tland trailed Geneseo, 32-27, at halftime, but a 12-1 Red Dragon run to open the second half put Cortland up 39-33. Then, with the game tied 50-50, the Red Dragons used another large run, 12-2, that gave them a 10-point advantage with just three minutes to play. Cortland hit 8-of-8 from the free throw line down the stretch to seal the 10-point victory.

A Difference of Halves: SUNY Cortland has had a de-cent amount of success from three-point range this season, shooting 34.2 percent entering tonight’s contest. That ef-ficiency was not on display in the first half SUNY Geneseo, however, as they shot just 2-of-14 from behind the arc. For-tunately for the Red Dragons, they shot 6-of-11 from three-point range in the second half, outscoring the Knights by 15 to come away with the win.

Leading the Way: The Red Dragons are led by two double-digit scorers in Lamard Herron ’15 and Blair Estarfaa ’16. Herron averages a team-high 16.4 points per game while also averaging 4.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists per contest. Es-tarfaa is posting per game averages of 12.6 points and 3.1 rebounds, despite playing just 20.4 minutes per game off the bench.

Estarfaa from Deep: Blair Estarfaa ’16 has been a lethal as-set from deep for Cortland, knocking-down 39 three-point-ers while shooting 47.6 percent from three-point range. As of January 18th, Estarfaa ranked eighth in the nation in three-point field goal percentage.
