How to create
a subdomain
on your
Wordpress
Why is there a need to
create a subdomain on
Wordpress?
Creating a subdomain
will allow you to manage
several accounts with
different themes using a
single website
First, log-in to your C-
Panel.
“cPanel is a Linux-based
web hosting control panel
that provides a graphical
interface and automation
tools designed to simplify
the process of hosting a
web site.”
My C-Panel is on
Interserver
Click where the arrow is
pointed
Click on the File Manager
Click Go
Click on New Folder
Assign a name for your
New Folder
Click on the new folder you
just created
Again, click on New Folder
to create another one
Assign another name for
the new folder just
created
What I did was to create a
new folder inside the new
one I created previously
On your browser, type
your site plus the added
folders, e.g.
samsmith.com/portfolioc/thriveall
This should appear on
your browser
Now, it is time to install
Wordpress
Locate the Zipped
Wordpress from your file
Note: You should have
downloaded the newest
version of Wordpress in
your file for easy access
Once Wordpress has
uploaded, click Go Back
Click Extract File
In the meantime, go back
to your file manager and
look for MySQL
Databases
Click MYSQL Databases
A New MySQL Database
name has been created.
Click Go Back
Below is the new
MySQL database name
Use the same name as
what you just created In
your MySQL Database
for easy management
Supply a password. Feel
free to use the password
generator
Click Create a User
This is the new MySQL
user name. Click Go Back.
Click on the dropdown key
and locate the username
you just created in MySQL
Database
A notification will come
out once changes have
been made on privileges
Go back to the
Wordpress you just
installed and
unzipped
Click Select all
Right click and use Move
Remove or delete /Wordpress
and click Move Files
Wordpress has been
moved
Right click on
wp-config-sample.php
and rename it to
wp-config.php
Click Rename File
Click Edit
Once you click Edit on the
Code Editor, you will now
supply the information
needed: Database name,
Database Username and
Password
You will get the
information from your
MySQL Database
which you made
earlier
Get the information from
your MySQL Database
Once you are done,
hit Save and then
Close
Open a New Incognito
Window
Supply the required
information
