Synchronised Mechanism
Adjustment
This mechanism adjusts the angle
of both the back and seat
independently of each other with
a free float feature.
The mechanism can be locked in
a desired position or left in free
flow mode for maximum posture
and prevention of back fatigue.
Tension Control
The resistance of the seat back
can be adjusted when in the
seated position via a control
feature in accordance with the
users bodyweight.
Seat Height Adjustment
Allows the user to adjust the seat
height for maximum support and
comfort. The seat height can be
adjusted between 4 mm – mm.
Seat Depth Adjustment
The Loreto seat pad can be
adjusted to a create a larger area
and additional support at the
back of the users knees. The
users legs should be fully
supported to ensure no undue
stress or pressure is exerted to
the back or calves. This feature is
beneficial for tall users.
Lumbar Support
Adjustment
An adjustable lumbar insert is a
standard feature of Loreto
offering the user 3 different
positions of adjustment. This
ensures the users ‘S’ shape
posture can be achieved and
adjustments made according to
the users shape and size.
Arm Adjustment
Height Adjustable Arms are a
standard feature of the Loreto
Chair. The arms can be adjusted
between 185mm – 280mm. The
users arm contact should be at
90 degrees and the elbow should
be in contact with the arm rest to
provide support to the shoulders
and upper back.
Correct Sitting Positions
Healthy
Head is balanced on vertebral column. Neck muscles
relaxed.
Open Posture with chest leading and shoulders back
creates correct balance between neck shoulder and
upper limb muscles.
Lumbar spine upright and knees below the level of hips.
Increasing the angle between the trunk and thigh
encourages the spine into an upright posture which may
reduce and even disc pressure.
Unhealthy
Head sits anterior to body. Neck muscles support
weight of head leads to tension in neck muscles.
Shoulders rounded and chest muscles shortened
increases the risk of developing a work related upper
limb disorder.
Lumbar spine slumped and knees above the level of
hips. Leads to increased pressure through the lumbar
discs and excessive ligament and muscle stretch in
lumbar spine.

laboratory testing procedures.
Back Strength Test Tested to subsection 5.4
Apply 200lb/f functional load for 1 minute to back of chair and maintain until defection is
stabilised.
Apply 300lb/f proof load and repeat procedure above.
Result: No structure failure or loss of serviceability.
Seating Durability Test Tested to subsection 11.3.1. (Impact test)
125lb bag of sand free-fall 1 inch to the center of seat, repeated for 100,000 cycles.
(actual test 20c/min)
Tested to subsection 11.4.1 test procedures (front corner load-ease test)
165il mload on each of front corner of seat by 203mm diameter disc, repeated for 20,000
cycles (actual test 20c/min)
Result: No structure failure or loss of serviceability.
Backrest Durability Test Tested to section 15, subsection 15.4.2
Secure a 225lb load on seat and adjust the cycling device to apply a 100lb force:
1. to vertical centreline for 80,000 cycles
2. 102mm to the right of vertical centreline for 20,000 cycles
3. 102mm to the left of vertical centreline for 20,000 cycles
at an appropriate rate of 10-30 c/min (actual test 20c/min)
Result: No structure failure or loss of serviceability.
