The Elgin St Thomas Community Foun-dationrsquos vision is to respond to commu-nity need and provide support to Elgin

County charities with sustainable lsquointoperpetuityrsquo funding

Building endowed funds since 2005 theElgin St Thomas Community Founda-tion has over $570000 in assets and haspresented 144 individual grants to doz-ens of local charities Being permanentFunds they will continue to respond tocommunity need into perpetuity

NEW FUNDANNOUNCEMENT

The St Thomas-Elgin Tourist Asso-ciation Scholarship Fund has beenestablished to support second yearpost secondary education in a traveland tourism related area of study Itwill begin granting in 2010

Total grants for 2008 were $16200 bringing our total granting to date to over $81000while preserving community capital to provide sustainable ongoing funding

Grant recipients include a wide rangeof organizations and charities that pro-vide support and services in our com-munity In our short history the ESCFhas made 144 separate grants to dozensof Elgin County charities

Community Foundations provide do-nors with a wide range of endowmentservices and each Fund has its owngrant criteria and application dead-

linesprocess Community organiza-tions interested in receiving grants areencouraged to contact the Foundationofce for a full list of opportunities
