    WhyElephants?

    Elephants are wonderful,

beautiful and majestic relationalbeings who have amazingawareness and sensingcapacities. They rely on theirawareness to survive and thrive.

Elephants are oriented towardsconnection and relationship dueto being social animals with aherd structure.

Elephants experience and thenrespond. Due to elephants being

a highly perceptive species, theywill react behaviourally to apersons non-verbals, intention, feelings and thoughts, especiallyif they are at odds with thepersons presenting behaviour orwords.

Elephants invite humans tostretch different parts ofthemselves beyond the thinkinganalytical mind, deepening theexperience in the body, intuitingand sensing, into the feelingrealm.

Elephants have many similartraits to humans. They are socialanimals, prefer to be with peers, have roles in their herd, and havedistinct temperaments andpersonal styles. They havefeelings, moods and preferences, and an approach that works wellwith one elephant may not work

with another. They are playful, curious and creative.

Interacting with elephants, withskilled facilitation, offersopportunities for participants toreceive non-judgmental feedbackabout existing behaviours andpatterns, as the elephantsrespond to each person and teamuniquely.

Experience the Healing Power of Elephantsfor Your Self

I know that youre wondering what it might be like tostart your days with the sounds of an elephantvillage coming to life.

As you wake you hear the gentle rumbling sounds of

the mother elephants in the nursery, as they call totheir young, and the excited cries and trumpets oftheir babies in response.

You walk outside your hut and see a huge, magnificent bull elephant, with massive tusks, hisMahout on his back, urging him through the village, past your hut and down to the river for a quick washand drink then its off to work they go.

You start your day by greeting your elephant andyou know she is pleased to see you. You spend afew moments with her feeling the heart connectionthat you now both have, and she stands quietlywatching you while you clean her nightspot, waitingfor you to feed her.

The early morning sun casts a golden glow over thescene and you can hear the repetitive melody of theBuddhist monks chanting in the background as theycall people to the nearby temple, and you findyourself moving your rake in time with the chanting almost a meditation in itself.

Daily gentle stretching and an individual Cranio-Sacral treatment helps you align your mind and bodyto the day and the changes that are occurring deepwithin you, as you care for your elephant and

immerse yourself in the experience of living in anelephant village.

playing together, learning how to relate to each otherand learning how to master the use of their trunksthat seem to have a life of their own!

And then the wading pool comes out for them to playin and you join in the fun, mindful that not everyoneis privileged to get the opportunity to frolic with babyelephants.

The facilitated sessions with your elephant assistyou to tap into your self-awareness and show youhow to overcome the limiting beliefs that have heldyou back in the past. You are transforming yourself.

As you ride your elephant down to the river for a

swim, you are aware that you are sitting on the backof the largest animal on earth and you feel yourelephant move beneath you with power, agility andsoftness and you become as one with her

    Cranio-Sacral Therapy

The Cranio-Sacral System consists of the brain, spinal cord, membranes andfluid within it. The fluid has a rhythm all its own, like your heartbeat or pulse. When there is a disruption in the system, dysfunction can occur.

A disruption means that the cerebral spinal fluid is not flowing to its maximumpotential. It can be caused by an accident, such as a blow to the head or a fall.A disruption can also occur from any sort of repeated physical or emotionalstress, chemical toxicity (from medications, for example), or environmentaltoxicity.

To correct a disruption, the therapist will use gentle non-intrusive techniques tofree restrictions of the soft tissue, bone structure, and central nervous system. The therapist facilitates rather than induces a change. The client decides uponthe level of physical and/or emotional change.

Cranio-Sacral Therapists are trained to release restrictions in the body.Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST) calms the central nervous system, allowing thebody and mind to be stronger and more resilient. In general, CST is veryrelaxing and people report feeling exceptionally grounded immediately after asession.

At Elephantstay you will have the chance to experience the effects of CST.Together with a combination of active breathing and repetitive yoga exercises, you will learn to stimulate both brain hemispheres, allowing yourself to activate

centres of perception that currently lay dormant.Gestalt Elephant Psychotherapy (GEP)

Using the principles of Gestalt Equine Psychotherapy Elephantstays retiredelephants will guide and co-facilitate your journey with the intention ofdeveloping self and relational awareness, emotional intelligence and awarenessof patterns that are no longer serving you well in your life.

The relational experience with the elephants offers opportunities for you toexplore and make contact that is grounded and alive. It is an opportunity forembodied awareness, in the moment, in relationship. There is no possibility ofbeing right or wrong. It is purely an invitation to build awareness andexperience authentic contact and relationship.

The facilitator, you and the elephant create a unique opportunity for personalgrowth, deepening self-understanding and connection from the experience inthe moment.

The GEP process works with self-exploration and healing across all levels ofexperience bodily and sensing, emotional, intellectually and spiritually.

Together Spiros and Lynn have developed a powerful program to integrate mindand body to facilitate change within the participant, using simple techniques ofmindfulness, bodywork and the healing power of elephants.

BUT more than anything we trust that whatever it is that YOU need YOUwill get and the processes we plan and the experiences that show up foryou are exactly what is needed to support your personal development.
