My abstract paintingshave its emphasis onspontaneous, automaticor subconscious creation.Although it is true thatspontaneity or theimpression ofspontaneity characterizesmany of my abstractexpressionists works, most of these paintingsinvolved carefulplanning, especiallysince their large sizedemanded itAbstract art gives you thefreedom to explore theartwork and bring yourown meaning to thepiece. One must let go ofthe need to put thingsinto words and let theartwork take yousomewhere.

"I really enjoy painting," "It gives me an

opportunity to meet allkinds of people. I thinkthe main reason is that I

want to makesomething I love. When

you love something, you enjoy it and younever work a day in

your life."

Painting gives me joy and I want to give thisjoy to people through my art. Painting is also away of expressing myself. I paint because I loveto create. I feel the purpose of creating art is to sharesomething beautiful and allow others to seesomething only the artist has perceived. Imake art to share my thoughts, my perceptionof the world. Painting gives me pleasure andaccomplishment in creating something....butto see the pleasure it brings someone else, tosee them love the painting is the mostfulfilling and wonderful compliment a paintercan have.
