ELEKTROFAD 2015National Level Symposium

The month of February will be remem-

bered for the ‘ELEKTROFAD 2015’ Na-

tional Level Symposium. It was very well

organized by the EESA (Electrical Engi-

neer Student Association). Almost 400 stu-

dents from different states participated in

Elektrofad InaugurationDepartment of Electrical Engg. arranged a

National level Event to encourage students

and develop extra skills & enthusiasm in the

Engineering Students. The Mega Volt Minds

participated in this national level event in

large number. The Guest of honor for this

events were Shri Shashikant Magdum. The

event lead organizer Mr. Kiran Keshyagol

showed us superb energy and gave his best

efforts in coordinating such a Great national

level event. There were total 6 sub events in

which the students participated as per their

choice. Though it was arranged by our Elec-

trical department, but covered all sub events

in such a way that all other department can

participate at least in any one of the event by

which every student can take part in this

‘Elektrofad 2015’ organized several events

one of them was Project Competition called

‘Innobuz’.

Mr. Pravin Gurav and Ms. P.M. Mankale

were the honorable judges for ‘Project Com-

petition’. Paper presentation developed the

skill of presentation and boost up confidence.

There were almost 28 projects presented in

competition. Ms. Shubhangi Mali and Swap-

nali Ghatage from PVPIT Budhgaon won

the Prize. They presented the project named

‘Automatic Rationing system’. Runner up

team members Swapnil Bhat, Sonal Mali, Ra-

jeet Patil and Chetan Kadam from SITCOE

for the project “ Real time monitoring scheme

for high voltage capacitor bank”

Paper Presentation

Electrofad also organized event called “Kaagaj” a national level paper presentation competi-

tion. Students from various colleges participated in this event with their brain storming new

and various ideas. The judges for this event were Prof. Prashant Patil from New polytechnic

Kolhapur and Mr. R. S. Mullani from SITCOE, Yadrav. The different topics held for this

event were based on Power Quality, HVDC/FACTS, Renewable Energy, Embedded system,

DSP application, Hybrid Vehicle and other Innovative topics. It was a suitable platform

from which student can represent their technical knowledge. 20 groups were participated in

the competition.

‘TROUBLESHOOTING’

One of the most interesting event of Elec-

trofad was Troubleshooting. There were

three rounds in the Competition related to

the Electrical and Electronics Circuits. Al-

most 32 participants were participated in

the competition from several colleges.

Mr.Shedbalkar and Mr. Chougule invited

as Judges for ‘Troubleshooting’.

‘Mera Movie’

Movie Making‘MERA MOVIE’ is the event of video

presentation likely movie making. Ms.

Pranali Ubale who is a Marathi movie in-

dustry actress invited as Judge for the

Event. Different types of Videos pre-

sented including subjects of child labor,

HIV, Youths Addiction, Corruption, Save

Baby Girl, Indian Culture etc. There were

‘IQ Burger’

Quiz CompetitionQuiz Competition was organized by elec-

trical department as IQ Burger. It was most

participated event so far in Electrical De-

partment where almost 96 participants tried

to won the Prize. At last Mr. Aniket Moka-

shi and Yogesh Patil from SE Electrical

won the Competition.

‘B-Plan’The Elektrofad had conducted Busi-

ness Planning Event called B-Plan.

Mr. P.A. Patil and Mr. P.A. Padukoni

invited as the Honorable judges.

There was 23 groups were partici-

pated also Six groups from MBA

Shankeshwara college of Karnataka.

Ms. Sana Sanadi and Asna Jarali won

the B-Plan Competition. They de-

scribed a very effective B-Plan of

‘Advanced Tomato Farming Plant’.

Mr. Manjunath Borgave and Mr.

Shaswatrao Ghatage won the Runner

up Prize. They presented A Jerbera

Plant Business Plan. Both the groups

were from ‘AIMR Shankeshwar

Industrial VisitsTilawani S/S 220KV:

The BE students of our department have

subject Electrical installation testing

maintenance for which they have visited

Tilavni Substation on 12 February to

study the subject more deeply. They stud-

ied the Transmission and Distribution at

the Station. Mr. G.A. Chougule was in-

charge for the visit.

Radio Station, Kolhapur:

TE Electrical students visited All India

Radio FM transmitter on 14 Feb 2015 at

Panhala with faculty Ms. Patil A J Ms

Mankale P M & Mr. Suryawanshi. Area

covered by the station is about 83 to

90km. They use line of sight propagation

for transmission. The antenna used for

transmission is of height 200m. It was

substation on 6 Feb in Jaysingpur un-

der the guidance of Mr.R.S.Mulani for

KAGAL Substation:

Final year students visited Kagal 33KV substation on 2 February under the guidance of Mr. G.A.

Chougule and Mr. Kiran Keshyagol. Testing and maintenance of distribution substation was the

Alessandro Guiseppe Antonio Anastasio Volta was

a pioneer in the field of electricity. The SI unit of electric potential

was named after him as the Volt. The portrait (above) was featured

on the Italian 10,000 Lire banknote. Volta developed the concept of

'state of saturation of bodies' to explain attractions and repul-

sions of electrified bodies. The electrophore he invented was se-

verely criticized by Beccaria, one of the chief authorities in elec-

tricity. In 1774, he became the principal of the state Gymnasium in

Como. In 1775, he was granted the professorship of experimental

physics. Cavendish's memoir of 1771 made Volta transform his no-

tion of 'natural saturation' into the concept of potential. His last
