Electrostatics and Current Electricity (SCIP1051)

Introduction Electricity is indivisible from modern life; principles of electricity are applied to many electrical appliances and electronic products. How well do you know the electrical phenomena, circuits and electronic parts around you? Through experiments and interactive learning activities, this course will provide students with the basic knowledge of static electricity, electricity and electronics. Students will have the opportunity to create circuits and electronic devices with a wide variety of electronic components.

Programme Type / Level

Electricity Course (Level 1) (Token-required)

Instructor(s) Mr. Cheung Chak Man

Pre-requisite No special prerequisites are needed

Target Participants

➢ P4 to P6 HKAGE student members

➢ Class size: 30

Medium of Instruction

Cantonese with Chinese handouts

Certificate E-Certificate will be awarded to participants who have: ❖ Attended at least 3 sessions; AND ❖ Completed all the assignments with satisfactory performance

Intended Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the programme, participants should be able to:

1. Produce static electricity and distinguish the charge of an object by the repulsive and

attractive force between objects;

2. Investigate the relationship between voltage, current and resistance in a circuit;

3. Analyze series and parallel circuit;

4. Make circuits with switches, different kinds of resistors, and other electronics components.

Screening Please answer the screening question in the online application form.

*The screening question is designed to help the applicant understands the course level and the

course content. The question must be answered by the student applicant and it can only be

attempted once. The answer cannot be changed once the application is submitted. Selection is
